" It wouldn't... hm... Look great, per se... And I must admit I'd not be looking forward to excusing myself and apologising... but I did what I wanted to do to help, and I regret nothing. " the creature whispered a little more quietly, and it glanced at its carefully wrapped injured hand before she whispered. " As long as you know I'd regret everything if you hurt yourself by bitting more than you can chew, it's alright. Don't force yourself to try if you see it's not working out. It... " he smiled faintly. " It would look terrible if because of me you were to get worse than when I met thee... "

"I just want to test an idea, but if it doesn't work or would make me worse, I will disregard it as a bad idea," Death promised him.

" That's all I ask for." Tide smiled a little." Okay, then, what do you say about finishing your tea? And when you're ready to turn into a snake, I can wrap you up in your scarf like before, if you'd allow me... "

"Yes, alright," Death agreed. He finished his tea and after he put the cup down, he turned into a snake.

Tide seemed to have grown a soft spot for the tiny form. Unbeknownst to him, he looked fascinated as the light of the early sun shone and reflected along with its scales. He could stare at it the whole day... but he did not. Instead, he reminded himself that they shouldn't waste time, and he put aside the admiration for now, and took the scarf, and first warmed it up in his hands, so it'd be more soothing upon snake's skin. Then, slowly and gently, not to stir his injured neck, he wrapped the little creature in it like a roll.

Death let himself be carried, but kept his head out to be able to see the surroundings.

Tide put on his mask, more comfortable with it when he knew sooner or later they'd meet someone. He put little kitten under his shirt so it could relax and rest, and it did so, feeling safe with the two of them who were no longer on the edge of their nerves or life. With their bag on his back, and Xia and Death under his shirt, the demon went in the direction of the river, supporting carefully with his healthy hand the little snake's neck, so keeping it out in curiosity wouldn't strain it. He walked lightly, careful not to stir them. This day seemed a little chilly, and there was a light tender breeze, but the demon kept their bodies warm with his powers, doing it almost reflexively by now as he got used to it.

Death was mostly leaning on his shoulder and watching the land, as it felt rather refreshing to see it from the ground after a long flight.

Despite the chill of the morning and some clouds gathering on the horizon, the day seemed rather nice. It was a lovely stroll through the woods - and when they reached the river, without anything dramatic or theatrical to it, Tide just stepped upon it. The water greeted him and splashed his legs, and he smiled, walking lightly across it, making step here and there, mostly because it felt more natural to him - but for the most part, he let it carry him, enjoying the sight of the tres and growing leaves and buds of spring, through the area that he probably didn't see for a couple of years at least.

Death seemed to enjoy it too, as it was warner in tge south and the spring came sooner here.

Tide seemed generally less anxious and more secure once they got so close and were surrounded by water. The salty scent in the air, so familiar and pleasant to him, was telling him he was almost home, and he was grinning like a child with it. He remembered Death liked listening to his talks about his kingdom last night, though, and as they walked, here and then through the song of the rustling leaves and foaming water, he'd speak to him quietly of the area they were around, little fishing villages and tiny coastal towns spread around this place like dew in the grass, and he spoke to him how he loved a couple of nearby rivers, as they would allow him to go a little deeper into the continent without fear of being helpless if he'd run into a malevolent Spirit.

Death enjoyed listening to him until they got to the sea together with the river. "Could we get something warm to eat and then find some safe spot to try the healing?" he asked?

" Let's deal with the first part first... " Tide said slowly, looking around. They were, as he promised, in a little fishing village. It seemed people didn't notice them too much, perhaps because, with Tide's cloak and mask, he made an effort not to be noticed, so Death would be more comfortable. He looked around.
" Well... The pub I used to frequent seemed to have closed," he commented, pointing in the distance, behind some trees and couple of smaller homes. " But it seemed that a little bigger inn has been opened in that place. It figures as this is one of the more frequent stopping places for caravans from the capital before they choose to go east or west along with the cost. Should we try our luck there? "

Death looked at it carefully. "I sense no Beings around... I think it should be safe to try."

" You stay close by, just in case. I have no Beings in protection program right here right now, but you never know, my people generally feel a lot safer to travel around in last few years. Hold on tight. " he whispered gently, as he stepped on the shore. He dried his feet and cloak that got wet from the water, and when he was sure no one noticed the irregularity, he passed between the trees, toward the inn.

"Should I hide?" Death asked. "Or is having a pet snake normal here?"

" There are so many kinds of pets all around the place, and rich nobles have all kinds of. Tiger cups are rather popular these days, as well as exotic birds that can mimic speech. " Tide explained wonderingly as he walked. " Snakes are usually a little scarier to common folk, but you're a very pretty snake, and look rather rare and expensive, with your reflective scales and violet eyes. So, what do you say? " he smiled a little, glancing at him. " Ready to try to pass as quirky nobleman's exotic pet? "

" Then may it be so, sweet little pet... " Tide smiled, and admitted. " Let's have some fun! I prefer it too... My little pet kitten and snake are my pride and joy! It will be no deception when I say so. " he said, and he stepped toward the building.
( OOC. Will there be any issue in the inn? Should you maybe be an innkeeper if there are going to be some deeper developments? Or should I just write briefly that people found it eccentric, but that they still sold things to them and didn't ask much questions? )

(OOC: maybe just a little episode)

As they ordered their food in the inn, a man in a bright yellow cloak approched their table. "Excuse me, may I sit with you?" he asked and took a seat without waiting for a reply or introducing himself. "I couldn't help myself but notice you have a black viper. A beautiful piece, really. Did you have its teeth removed?"

" Oh? " Tide replied, smiling back politely, turning to take a better look. " Well, of course not, dear sir. I know it's more dangerous, but I never had the heart to do such a thing. Some dangers are worth it to preserve such great quality, you understand. "

The man's eyebrows climbed up his brow. "Are you serious? And you are keeping it free, with no cage? That poison is deadly! Maybe you are not concerned about yourself, but ehat if it bites someone here?"

" It's pretty calm. There's no need for that. " Tide replied, just a touch more protectively. " As long as no one pokes it, it won't bite. It needs no cage, kind sir - it likes hanging out upon my neck, so I let it so do. And it never bit anyone while in my care, I'll have you know. I've even trained her to eat from my hand. It's as polite as you can imagine a snake to be. "

"That it never bit anyone doesn't mean it can't. What if a curious little kid pokes it? It is an animal, you can never know what it does. I should tell the guards that you are a danger to the people here, sir..." the man said, but did not do anything yet.

The man could not see it from underneath Tide's mask, but the demon narrowed his eyes at him.
" I also have a kitten. Are you going to go tell the guards that it is a danger to people around just because it has claws? " he asked, just a touch more cautious, although he kept a pleasant tone. "I, my kitten and my snake are just in passing. We came here for a meal. We assure you, we will trouble no people here, and it is not like I am letting my snake loose on the floor - as you see, it's on me all the time. "
