"Sudden?" Senecio chuckled. "Why do you think it wasn't carefully prepared for months? For my whole life, actually. No, longer... for all the time since the Empire took this land from my family, it's rightful rulers..."

(OOC: Morning would be better)

Vampire looked at him quietly and carefully. He shook his head tiredly, and turned to meadow king.
" Sire... This sounds like something that would take a while, and... It's really distracting to speak with an man with a face of Sage's son. I would prefer to know the real face, of whom I'm dealing with. " he pleaded Svarik quietly. " Could we have some soap and water first? And some privacy, too... It's getting crowded here. " He said, trying to inquire with king if he would feel better if someone, at least the guards, would leave, to give them more space, as it was indeed getting quite crowded here, and he did not trust everybody, either, as he did not know most of the people besides Sage and Tide all too well.

( OOC: Okay, at what time should I come? Bus is 83, if I remember right. )

[Mirach]

"Yes, I don't think Lorenzo... the real one... and his wife need any guards. Some nice calming tea nad fresh clothes, maybe. Bring that together with soap and warm water, and then you can leave," he told the guards.

(OOC: around 10, maybe?)

" I agree. " Erdel nodded, and guards left to do their bidding. " Would you mind showing me your and your lady's hands for a moment, please? " he told to real Lorenzo kindly, observing how cut around the wrists they were from struggling against tight bounds.

( OOC: It sounds great. I checked the bus, and it says there's one at 10:05, and there are buses often, so it should be no problem <3

Lorenzo did so a bit resignedly, thinking he want to see them to confirm their story.

(OOC: Alright, but it's fine sooner or later, as you get there)

Erdel looked at them carefully, with some thoughtfulness, for a lingering moment.
" I am sorry that you ended up involved in this. You were just used to get to us, and were almost framed for a crime you did not commit. It was not right. " he said quietly, and then smiled gently. " I bid you to please, in name of me and my dear king, accept this sincerest apology. " he bid them, and he slowly passed with his fingertip  across man's hand hurt by the bound, and there was some peculiar warmth with the touch, like little flicker upon the soul... And his wounds were gone, along with the pain.

[Mirach]

Lorenzo looked at his hand a bit wonderingly, but than nodded, used to his father's dealings with spirits and demons. "Thank you. But if you allow, sire, I have another request. This man whom I though my friend tried to befoul my name. I do not want to be in the way of your justice, but if you allow it, I would like to challenge him in a duel."

[VisAnastasis]

Erdel looked at Svarik shortly, before speaking up carefully.
" He tried to belittle your name, but he failed in doing so. Nobody but us knows of what happened. Your name is clear, as far as we are concerned. Nobody will blame you for this. " vampire said to him gently. " It would serve great shame to our visit, though, if you dueled him, and ended up killed - our host loves his children above all, we would never approve of something that had any kind of danger for his son. He was willing to do anything, to save your life. You should respect your father's love enough, not to put your life at risk like this. It is a disrespect to how much he loves and values you. You should cherish it. " he said sternly. " It would not be a fair fight, even - you are weak from being held captive the whole day, yes, but his right hand is badly injured by me, and he's bruised from our fight and dazed with painkiller. Would you deem yourself just, if you defeated someone in his condition? You would be no better than him, then. It would not be a duel, but a slaying. Neither of you is fit for such thing as duel, and my king can not approve of it, even if you were. We will give you justice for injustice you was put under, and he will have to make up for what he had done - but I can not allow needless spilling of blood in my king's name. My king is good and just - and enough blood has been spilled already. "

[Mirach]

"It's not just my name, it's my honor," Lorenzo said darkly. "With all due respect, my king, this is personal, and I'm willing to wait until his wounds heal to make it just."

Svarik shook his head. "Before deciding anything, let us hear him out. I respect your honor, Lorenzo, but I need to have all the facts and time to think about them before I give you a reply."

[VisAnastasis]

" As you wish, sire. I admit I wish to hear everything first, as well.  So, who shall stay for the hearing? " He inquired. " My king, me, Sage, and you.  Would you like your wife to go rest, or should she stay as well? I think you should rest as well, Tide. " vampire said to hesitant timid demon. " I will make sure Senezio behaves himself, and you should really go now, to get that hand checked. I won't let anything happen to your dear nephew, I promise. "
" Well, if they are safe.. " Tide said hesitantly, hiding his hand shyly - it indeed seemed it got a bit worse, since he was using it today too much, while defending them.

[Mirach]

"They are with Erdel," Svarik nodded. "Thank you, Tide. After Erdel heals her wounds as well, lady Amelia can go with you if she wishes to rest. But if Hans is avaliable, I would like him to be present."

[VisAnastasis]

" I think Hans would like that. I told him what happened. He did not want to impose himself, but I can hear him foaming and brooding in the common room. I think this would calm him. " Tide admitted, while he was watching Erdel courtly and kindly take Amelia's hands, and heal her from her hurts, not showing any pain with it, acting like a gentleman.

[Mirach]

Lady Amelia thanked him, and excused herself to go with Tide, needing the rest despite her concerns.

[VisAnastasis]

Only king, Erdel, Sage, Lorenzo, and the traitorous actor remained there, with Melody content to remain as the air around them for now. Soon, pale in the face, and quiet in his demeanor, after Tide explained him the situation, the Spirit Hans joined them as well.

Svarik greeted him with a grim nod. After soap and water were brought, Senecio started removing his mask with theatrical gesture, as if giving them a performance even now. He peeled some starchy mixture off his face, and also dye, and soon the features before them were not Lorenzo's, but his own.

Once mask fell down, and they all seated themselves, vampire between actor and others, of course, he quietly glanced to Svarik, to see if he wants him to speak, or speak himself. Then he nodded to king, and turned back to Senecio, to continue interrogation himself.
" Alright, then, let's start from the beginning. " he said. " Real name, how old are you, how long have you been an actor, and so on. Last name, family name, I see, would be desirable as well. Mind you, my king now can recognize when you lie, so it'd be most convenient for us all, you included, if you'd speak honestly from the start, so we can wrap this up before dawn, hopefully. More you lie, worse it will be for you. "

[Mirach]

The actor bowed with a fluorish. "Senecio di Parvaio, third of the name, the best actor on this coast since I started to talk, from the Parvaio family, the rightful rulers of this land and sea. Tragically deceased after a failed attempt to get back what's rightfully his at the age of 34, it seems..."

Emperor, as evil as you may deem him, was graceful enough to stop all slavery in his cities, and this one included. It is recalled as an act of great grace and defeat of savagery where I came from - triumph of free men, over slave owners. " vampire commented coldly. " Do you have another version of events, perhaps? "

"Besides the obvious that not all the family has been killed, why should I?" Senecio asked with a theatric gesture. "So what if my ancestors were slavers? I am not. Apparently, your king's ancestors were murderers, and you don't seem to mind..."

[VisAnastasis]

" So what if his ancestors were murderers? He is not. " Vampire agreed the same. " You are both your own people. There is a difference, though, between your claims. His claim to the throne is valid, while yours was lost to time. 3rd city was conquered ages ago. How long was it, 300 years? Sage is only one we have met from here, that has actually witnessed it, along with his Demon and Spirit friends. Your land is part of Lowlands, and your ancestors were kings, but you are an actor. My king's land, Lowlands, still stands, and he is the Last Derhain, and is rightfully crowned. You are not. Whole land recognized my king as prince, but nobody sees you as anything but actor. Just because his ancestors were killers, he is not, but he is king, because his claim was seen and recognized. Just because your ancestors were slavers, you are not - but you are also no king. You are an actor. " vampire repeated slowly. " Why should you try to pursue something you have long lost right to? My king had whole army, whole capital, and so many people all over the land, standing behind his claim and accepting him as ruler. You have no claim and no power to exercise that claim. Why, then, not just move on, and do your own thing? You were great actor, you said so yourself... Why not move on and make most of your own life, happy and remembered as a grand artist? It's been 300 years... 200 at worst...  Why not just live your own life? "

"That's an interesting idea..." Senecio said slowly. "Those who raised me would not approve of it, but it seems tempting to me now - if by life, you mean longer than a few days, counting from now."

[VisAnastasis]

" Were you not happy as an actor? I heard you were quite good. Why even do this, then?" Vampire inquired. " You seem quite qualified for an actor, but not even bit qualified for a ruler. Do you even know how much effort it takes? Do you know anything of laws and economy of it? What have you done through your life, to try to better land you live in and pain respect? What do you even think ruling requires? It is lot of work. It means looking after so many, daring for many, keeping them fed and Wel. Sage is qualified. If we really needed to chose a ruler for Sea, we would give such honorable title to someone of his qualified, someone who is as famous and beloved by many - not an actor, per se. It too even ten years for Svarik to get elected, and he was last Derhain, only surviving from the line, and descedant of kings as well. He however, spent ten years helping people on his way, healing souls, becoming almost but a legend, a figure of great love and respect. As soon as he was crowned, along with his friends he started to work onbettering this land. What did you do, for this land you are so eagerly to claim as your own?"

"Well, I am a good liar," Senecio smiled charmingly. "That's about the same qualification as many of the emperors had."

[VisAnastasis]

" Emperors were not people. Emperors were but shells, filled with malice older than any of them - emperors were humans embedded with force of evil so pure and terrible, than none was its match for thousand of years. That malice had experience of thousand of years. It bended people's wills to its own, gaining respects and love of thousands through its blood rituals. I am not saying it was right. It was terrible, in fact. But I am saying it was power unimaginably smart and wicked, with military experience of thousand of years, and brutality of just as much. Cities and kingdoms trembled, under its power. Lives were lost, so its evil could be defeated. I am telling you this, because there is much you do not know. And even if terrifying, the force uniting all emperors was still more experienced and more capable than you, a mere 34 year old. " vampire whispered quietly to him. " But emperors are no more. I do not ask you why you're better or worse than emperors. I simply ask what you have to offer to your land, other than your lies? Svarik has support of army, many friends among nobleman, countless admirers among people, and he has heart that is golden and hands that are so soft and gentle that they can heal souls. He has touches many lives in profound way with his kindness and care, including my own. " he did not hesitate to say it openly and simply, with pride and affection. " You did not try to blackmail an emperor, but my king, a person of great value and might in his own right - it is that person to whom you should compare yourself in your claim for the throne. What makes you so fit for ruler of Seacost, other than your last name? Who stands behind you? Who would go to the death for your sake? Who respects you so deeply, that would do anything, to return you your kingship? Whom have you helped so much, that he feels he must support you and none else? What have you done to earn people's love? How many lives have you touches in such a profound way, that you feel no man is better fit than you in taking care of this land? Can all those men make an army that can support you through thin and thick, or are they so few they can all sit down at a small dinner table? "  

( OOC: Just returned home, and logged into internet banking. I sent the rest of the money, hope it will come by tomorrow to you, like last time <3

"You would be surprised how many old families would unite behind the name of Parvaio," Senecio said proudly. "And I'm not challenging your king for the throne. Let him keep the Lowlands. I only wanted to free the Seacoast."

(OOC: But the courier did not come yet, so I guess he got delayed and will only come tomorrow, so there's no reason for you to come yet.)
