Svarik shook his head, not interrupting the song. He was watching Emmet's reactions and little movements during it and saw that the paralyzing potion is still affecting him, so he continued playing for about half an hour more, until the effects wore off. Only then he stopped it.

Falcon in meantime leaned back on the wall, crossing his hands and observing the room, listening to the music idly too.
Emmet indeed seemed rather faint for a while, as, while doze of the potion was correct, he was rather thin and fraily built, and in combination with painkiller, effects dazed him longer. But indeed, in the next half hour, with reprieve and with music, the effects finally wore off completely, and there was no more panic and fear in his gestures and expression. As music was fading, he finally opened his eyes again, and his gaze was serious but more present. First, he glanced at his healed hand thoughtfully for a moment, moving fingers but lightly and carefully, but as the song faded, he slowly looked back at Svarik. " I must... give you my gratitude. I wished... I could give more than that, b-but... " a smile came only faintly upon his lips, and it was little but sincere. " I am not quite sure what one like me could offer to a beautiful ethereal half-supernatural wizard who doesn't seem to lack anything... " |

|
"To whom?" Svarik raised his eyebrows, looking around as if searching for that person. "I just want to see you trying on that cool mechanical thing and telling me how it feels. And I bet Janus wants that too."
|

|
" I hope it will work, then. It would be terribly impolite to spend so much of your time if it doesn't." He whispered shyly, only half joking. " Okay." he straightened with slowly budding confidence." Let's do it."
" Janus wanted to ask you if you'd rather try it yourself or have him present." Falcon voiced himself. " Quote, he isn't sure of human norms." " It isn't about norms..." Emnet murmured unsurely." He is my master, it's up to him " " He wants to know what do you want, though." " I... I guess... I would prefer him to come." Lad cleared his throat, a little embarrassed." So... So he can make sure I am using it right. " Falcon nodded. Ge turned away, and left - after couple of minutes, returning, with a timid, but much more healthy looking Being following him. His palm, holding the mechanical hand protectively, were healed, but his gaze looked concerned, trying to take in the situation. |

"First though," Svarik said after Conrad left, "try moving your hand without the mechanical aid, see how it feels. And tell me if there is any pain or something doesn't feel right, okay?"
|

Emmet nodded, and tried to move it more systematically, not beat with estimating how he feels, but feeling obliged to reply as well as he can.
" I guess... I feel a little weaker... But that's normal when you have less fingers to use... Right?" He cleared his throat, trying to ignore that for the time being." It's... A lot to take in... I'm not sure, I mostly feel a little like my skin is a little too stiff - but that is probably normal too, isn't it, when it overgrows bleeding flesh and bare bone in couple minutes? Ny forefinger hurts a little bit, but that's because we choose not to cut any of it because I pleaded you to remove as little of hand as possible." He said shuly, as if apologizing." Everything you did do seems like a great job, to me at least. I don't... Remember when I last felt... This normal..."' |
Administrator
|
"By feeling weaker, do you mean the hand or do you feel weakened in general?" Svarik asked. "And let's see what we can do about the stiffness." He examined the skin and stared massaging it lightly.
|
Administrator
|
" I think... I used to use the middle finger the most to support the forefinger... so I had more mass to combine into action, I guess? It would hurt, but if you'd be disciplined and put its weight into movement, you could use the weight of both fingers... to push and pull heavier mechanis-.." Emmet murmured out shyly, and suddenly moaned a little with the unexpected touch. It was clear his hands were sensitive part he wasn't used to being handled, and even more so, he wasn't used to such careful handling. The skin was indeed a little stiff from rapid change to its structure, and as for many years he didn't use his hand properly, what was left was strained and worn out from restrained use. But light movement and massage seemed to be an unusually nice experience, and help Emmet feel more sure about this, as with soothing touch it sank in more how little movement hurts as it got less stiff - and a slow sprouting little smile of confidence grew in the corner of his lips.

"It's stiff from the way you have been using it, too," Svarik said. "You will have to exercise it slowly. Not push yourself, but increase the range of movement gradually."
(OOC: sorry, I got sick and forgot to reply!) |

( OOC. No worries, I assumed you were busy ;) getting sick sucks, though, are you feeling better, dear? <3 )
" I see... I'll do my best. " Emmet replied earnestly, before adding shyly as he realized it sounds too enthusiastic, with a playful tease with which he seemed to express thankfulness. " Um, I mean, of course, I'll do my best to take my time, sir Definitely too pretty not to be a Being in Disguise. You put so much effort into this... I... " he cleared his throat. " I give you... my word, that I won't let your effort go to waste... " |

(OOC: I was not getting better for over a week so I got annoyed with it and went to the doctor who gave me antibiotics and it was an almost instant relief)
"Good," Svarik chuckled. "I know there's the play today, but don't strain it too much." |
Administrator
|
( OOC: Oh, yes, I tend to do that too... it's just so straining to go to the doctor when you're sick and have to wait for three hours just to be told you have the flu, so most of the time I skip on it and drink a lot of tea XD But it's really good news that you're feeling better :) please, don't feel bad, take the time off whenever you feel need to, dear, no pressure <3 )
" Janus has separated us into three groups for controlling mechanisms, and he's already only given me the parts I can mostly run with one hand... " Emmet admitted a little sheepishly, with embarrassment, but also wish to reassure. " So, you need not worry, sir. For someone that barely has a hand, I feel in pretty good hands. Besides, sir Janus would probably be... disappointed, if I strained too much. I can't have that... " |
Administrator
|
(OOC: actually it's getting worse again, going to the doctor again tomorrow...)
"I'm glad to hear that," Svarik said. "Now I'm really curious about this mechanical hand, too." |
Administrator

( Ooc: oh, that's bad news, I hope it's not too serious :( I'm crossing my fingers, hope the visit helps and you get some stronger medicine! <3 )
" I am at least half as excited, yes." Boy snorted a little." Okay, let's try it, I guess! If everyone agrees... " At his bid Janus and Falcon came in, one shy and one confident. Being, that seemed and looked much healthier, stepped forth first, and timidly, he extended the mechanical arm to the boy. Ennet was unsure at first, asking how it should be put on. " I would have let our respected guests do it, if i thought you needed help. But I built it so you can put it on with one hand. Just follow my instructions... Raise it up like that... Press against the skin... Good..." Being spoke to him quietly, in patient sentences. It took a moment, slowly fitting in the construction over freshly healed skin, but they finally did it, and it was a seemless fit against the skin, beautiful and sleek, almost looking more of a fashion statement than a prostetic - however, mechanical part was just as good, moving seemlesly. " It... Responds to my -ggestures..." Emmet exclaimed in awe, while slowly trying to make simple moves. " Yyess... That was the idea." Being raised his eyebrows slowly." But thst aside, it isn't just about working, but quality. How does it feel? It is the tight fit? Does anything hurt?" " No.." Emmet shook his head with wonder, while trying it out. " I mean, my forefinger does hurt a bit, but that's only because I kept the top of it. All else... I don't know what to say... " " I... may know some good words. " Janus offered timidly." Maybe words like, I will consider wearing a little add on top of it...." " Add... On? What do you mean?" Being nodded to ser Falcon, who calmly took of something from his pocket and shown it to the boy " It is... Sort of s tiny thin but strong piece of armour that can clip onto your prostetics, and goes over forefinger and thumb. Those are vulnerable and valuable parts left. So, I thought, what about offering some protection to you while not taking away your right to your limbs?" Demon commented hopefully." It is of strongest materials I know, so even if... There is an accident, and it gets stuck.... You can be peaceful, knowing no mechanism can... Squash them..." Emmet paled a little at that mention, as it brought a dark memory, but he nodded slowly. " I... Am just a little surprised. It wasn't a part of the deal..." " I know. I have built it into concept last night, but I didn't tell you. I was still undecided if I felt like really wanting to give it to you ot not. " Being admitted, with a vulnerable, but slowly growing warmth." However, after the... Choice you made... I felt... Compelled to go all the way with it..." " Do not take his hesitatance personally, kid." Falcon reassured him calmly, while showing him the new mechanical part." It's just armour, and armour is sort of part of military tools and all that. Your Master Janus just has a really strong aversion to giving humans anything that can possibly be military related. I mean, with this strong construction, and addition, you can probably stop an arrow by putting your hand in front of it, or stop a sword heading to your head by grasping it. " Falcon commented." Your master just had to think it through, first. Beings have those crazy rules that bind them like laws of gravity... They can only phisically do things if their heart is in it or something..." " That is... A bit crude way to put it..." Being seemed a little embarrassed, rather vulnerable before scrutiny." But yes... I couldn't do it before I was sure I do want to go all the way with this... " |

"I'm glad that you have it," Svarik said. "Will you be fine, then? If everything feels right, I will leave you for now. I need to finish healing Hans's tail, and would like to get some rest between that and the play in the evening."

" It seems Emmet is doing alright, so I could not possibly bid you to stay longer. Although, perhaps... May we all leave together?" Janus asked, while quietly watching Emmet try on and put the mechanical armour with wonder. " It is not..." Being stuttered uncomfortably." Proper, for me to stay alone with children in a place like this. "
" Sure thing, if you feel like it. We can leave you guys under the stage and go our way." Falcon nodded. " Yes, you may leave, as soon as you drink and dine. You did me a great service, I can not on my honour as a host send you away hungry. " Being replied solemnly. They all packed their things, and left for the surface, Conrad helping Svarik, and the kids helping Emmet. Soon they found themselves back beneath the stage, and after they have drunk some nice tea and food they got before to replenish their strength, the Being, who but watched them rather quietly as they ate, bid them goodbye for now, giving them blessing to leave, gesturing at the exit of the basement, lighting up the way for them with his floating blue lanterns. |

"Any idea where I could find Hans?" Svarik asked after thanking Janus for the meal.
|
Administrator
|
" Hm.. Give me a moment, little one... " Janus replied, although, it didn't seem he had some sharp senses to work off, since his level of strength and perception was much closer to ones of humans. Instead, he reached for his bag and from it he took some small rectangular device out on it, not bigger than the palm, tinkering with it for couple of seconds before he raised his look. " You're in luck," he whispered. " It seems he is here in the theatre. Could be he is making last arrangements for the play with Senecio? In either case, he is in fifteen-meter radius, so he should be easy enough to find... "
|
Administrator
|
"Probably around the stage, then. Thank you," Svarik said and took leave of them. Together with Conrad, he went up to look for Hans.
|
Administrator
|
They didn't need to search for long. After Senecio and Hans parted ways with Death, they went to do finishing up works in the theatre to make sure everything is alright. Right at this moment, they were speaking with three Beings and two humans that were working on light decorations, giving them instructions to some final adjustments to colours.

Svarik waved at him when Hans was looking in his direction, letting him know that he would like his attention after they are finished with whatever they are doing.

Hans was invested in the talk, but, always attentive to what was going on, he noticed the gesture, and grinned a little when his eyes caught the sight of meadow king. He finished the conversation briefly and bowed to the group, not too deeply, so he wouldn't stir his tail, before, despite seeming a little weary, stepping up to them with unquestionable enthusiasm.
" Hi there, younglings... Sorry about that, we were figuring out how to add a bit of glistening feel to some more dramatic scenes. Sooo, how are you handling the day so far? " he tilted his head curiously while bowing but lightly in a greeting. " Managed to be handy and help the handless kid? Got a bit more into Janus's favour by focusing well on the task at hand? If there're any juicy details or handlings, " he winked. " I'd love to learn it from you firsthand, of course. " |
Administrator
|
Svraik smirked at the pun. "Sure, I can relay them to you while healing the rest of your tail. If the guest room is ready, we could go there for some privacy."
|
Administrator
|
" Oh. " Being raised its eyebrow a little, as it didn't seem to expect the offer, for a rather brief moment forgetting the next pun it planned. The only brief moment though - the next one it coughed, putting its hand together in collecting gesture. " I... did not really dare expect such a thing. You already helped so much... Are you sure you want to give me a hand? " he grinned faintly, hiding his feelings behind the playful puns and tone. " You are my guest here, after all, I'd be hands down the worst host if I overused your kindness. Yes, I have to hand it to you, you have your hands full of good intentions, but how healthy it is to be so handy? "
|
Administrator
|
Svarik couldn't help it but roll his eyes at the puns going rather overboard. "I have nothing else useful to do, so if you just lead on, I'll be on your tail."
