"I see that building this mansion was no small feat. It really feels very safe. And what about tomorrow? I suppose you have your own duties and I don't want to keep you from them, but will you have breakfast with us?"

" As I said - you can not comprehend the magnitude of debt I owe to your star gazing friend. In my eyes, it is as infinite as the night sky he adores so much. " The Sage looked at him gently and knowingly, with look so intent and crisp it felt he could see through skin and bones, to the very soul. " For Falcon's friends, I will find time. I have things to do, of course - but least I can do is have breakfast with you, and make sure you are sent of to the sea properly, with plenty of good advises and anything you may need. "

"Alright then. In that case we can leave everything else for tomorrow. Have a pleasant time until then."

" I will come soon, sire. " Erdel promised timidly. " Just a little talk, that's all.. "
" You need not apologize to anyone for such a little pleasure. I expect nothing less of you as my guest than to enjoy yourself. " Sage cut Erdel's apology gently. " Please, come, young friend. Let us see if we can find some nice place that you'd enjoy to chat... " he said, and as if by nothing but a power of his words and character, demon was compelled to shyly follow him.
They left with biding good night to them, leaving little animals, Svarik and Xia in the cozy room.

Svarik was tired after the long day. He just made sure that the animals have everything they need and caresses Xia, and then went to bed. He watched the stars and the sea until he fell asleep.

Xis followed him to bed. She seemed to realize he may not always like imposing herself and using her fur as a pillow, so instead she turned into the dog form, and shyly climbed on the bad and innocently sneaked in underneath his blankets. She curled beside his chest, feeling safe there, and purring quietly and calmly.

Couple hours later, Erdel walked in soundlessly to the room, closing door behind him. He sat down in an armchair beside fire, and took out book about demons, and was reading the whole night, while occasionally making short brakes just to look up and observe them, calmed by seeing his companion peaceful, checking their breathing and pulse to keep himself calm as well.

Svarik slept well and awoke refreshed when sun started to rise above the sea. He remained in bed for a while, admiring the sight, before he rose. "Good morning," he greeted Erdel and Xia. "Do you know where should we meet the Sage?"

" I am not sure. I guess we can just go down and ask, or I could do it first in your stead, sire. " Erdel replied shyly.
Xia had other things on her mind, though. She was excited when king woke up, as she had waited patiently for him for a while, and hurried to use her chance. She turned into a fox child fox, and crawled outside of the covers adorably.
" Books? Toys? Food?... Books? Lot books? " she sighed with her paws quickly and with some hopeful excitement - they were doing a lot yesterday and didn't have time for reading to her, so she didn't complain, but she seemed to try to quickly grab their attention to bid for what she wanted before they ask her to fly them off somewhere.

Svarik chuckled. "Alright, Erdel can go to inquire about the Sage and breakfast, and we will read some nice book in that time."

Xia seemed pleased she got what she wanted - it seemed she longed last night to ask about having something read before bedtime, but seeing how Svarik was tired at a time, she just brushed of such self centered thoughts and went to cuddle with him. But now, she was beaming, happy anew for having a chance to learn some new words, for in her was burning a fire and desire to find a way to express herself and connect to ones around her.
Erdel went in meantime to inquire about their meal and meeting with Sage.
He returned around half an hour later.
" I am sorry for being a bit late, the layout of this building is quite confusing, sire... " he apologized. " But I found The Sage, and he was having an audience of some sort, along with his granddaughter, I think. I was getting some Falcon-vibe from it, I think. Anyway, he is glad we're all, um, awake, and wishes us to go down and have breakfast with him. He asked if the garden he enjoys usually in this time of day would suffice for a place? "

Svarik closed the book they were reading. "We will take it with us and read a bit more on some nice beach, alright?" he asked Xia. "Lead us, please," he then told to Erdel.

As they went, room tidied itself after them in rather fast and efficient manner, as if working by some invisible precise mechanism. Demon led them downstairs, through couple indeed confusing staircases and rooms, to the garden, where Sage awaited.
There was lovely view upon the ocean, and there was a table set under protective pavilion with plants surrounding it, and upon the table, were already placed numerous plates with countless and countless different kinds of delightful food, each looking more delicious than the last.

Svarik wished the Sage good morning, and joined him at the table. He gave a plate for breakfast to Xia as well, since they were no longer pretending anything.

Xia seemed excited about no longer having to pretend anything, once she was assured of that. Seeing all people seated down at table, even Erdel who wasn't eating, she took on a form of a little fox child, whose appearance brought forth a gasp of delight from The Sage. However, Xia was too short in such form to reach the table with her little paws, so, like one would to a too little child, Sage brought two pillows she could sit on so she would be tall enough to be on equal level to them. She was both little surprised and glad by attention and little act of kindness, and she reached for him with her cute little paw, and fondly patted his head, like Svarik would pet her when she would do a good job, an act at which old powerful Lord of the Sea chuckled delightfully.
" You are very kind, little fox, but please, be careful... " he bemused. " Your nails are sharper than you know it, I wouldn't want to lose a seashell or two. "

Svarik meanwhiles filled both of their plates. "Do you know what weather we can expect today?" he asked the Sage. "On the land I can tell that, but the clouds over the sea seem different..."

" There are normally more certain ways to tell, but right now, I fear you came to the sea in a bit of a sea pickle of a time. One major Sea Deity was hurt quite badly during Long Night, and it is still recovering. Fate is such that - this particular deity has profound effect on weather here, an dis currently living near the shore here, so she can be treated. Weather along seashore of Lowlands is quite unpredictable right now. " The Sage replied with some grief. " As of today, morning will be rather pleasant and warm, as it is under painkillers right now - but once medicine starts to wear off around 2 hours after noon, I fear you should expect and be ready for sudden change in weather to worse. That much I can guarantee. "

" It's a deity somewhere between a demon and spirit. That is, it has a soul like a demon, but its mana is of white color and warmth like one of Spirits. " Sage warned quietly. " Do you think such a thing would be safe for it, taking in account your connection with Lord Death? And for everyone around it, for that matter. My friends, and as well some other lower Spirits and Demons spend lot of time with it each day, to help it. I wouldn't want to endanger any of them, as I told you yesterday. "

"If you wanted to be certain, you should just say that the weather will be nice, but will probably change in the afternoon," Svarik sighed. "This way I already know about him, and also that there is a lot of demons and rebel spirits at the sea. That may be enough for Death to come here, if he finds out. I think it's more than enough what I know about Cernunnos. If I want to protect him, the best I can do is to avoid Death completely..." he smiled sadly. "It's a pity that he is so often with Bell..."

" I can not tell you whole truth, but I can not conceal it fully before you either - you are Falcon's friends and that puts me in great debt to you. Beside, more certain than anything, if you noticed sudden change in wheather, you would desire to investigate it and may be get in trouble. Sea critters could fear you came to hurt their wounded friend, and you may end hurt. I can not hold such terible thing on my conscience either. " He smiled with grief. " I would be very much grateful if you avoided Death, little Nightingale. Opinions I heard from my friends of him ae biased, yes, but to be trutful, I seldom heard anything good of him.... it is said he is fear less and brutal in his wrath..  "

"I don't know about that," Svarik said. "I think he used to be, but now he is hurt himself. He was kind to me and Ben... But when it comes to demons, he seems completely impredictable to me. He was able to use his own sword again... it seemed like a rather big thing, but I'm not quite sure what it means. Maybe he really needs to live another life as a human to put some things behind. I hope I can avoid him until then. I just think that now I already know too much for it to make any difference if I meet your friends or not..."

" I do have some ways to hopefully help them escape, if it comes to that... so I guess if I just stay on guard, I am as ready as I can be for helping them flee in case of danger. " Sage whispered slowly and quietly." So... Would you wish to meet some of them, then? If you are interested in playing, we can always use an extra pair of skilled hands..  "

"If it would be just meeting them for pleasure, I would resist the temptation, but it seems the danger will not increase with that anymore, and if I can help somehow, at least I would repay them that danger I brought..."

" I apologize, but I must address the guilt that I can hear in your voice. It displeases me to see you feel it. " Sage noted, and his deep blue eyes narrowed at Svarik like two crystal marbles. " Little Nightingale - it's not you who started this war. I can't blame you for good intentions. I can blame you, though, for that guilty tone. I can not let you meet my friends in such low spirits... " he measured a little faint smile and graced king with it. " I desire no such thing as atonement of your sins. or any such foul thing as your low mood and humbly lowered head. If you are going to meet my friends, I can't let it happen  but from such solemn grim reasons. Do you wish to engage with them for pleasure, or do you not? " he asked directly. " For if answer is no, I will not have my dear guest meet my beloved friends, if he's going to feel guilt about it. My warm wish for you is for no guilt to touch him. I'd rather have him enjoy the soothing sea, go sightseeing, or amuse himself with buying gifts for his own friends. "

"It would really be a pleasure to meet them," Svarik said softly. "So I will try to suppress the guilt..."
