Svarik froze. "Are you poisoned? Is there an antidote? Tide, please, ask if there is an antidote!" Lorenzo rolled his eyes. "Of course there is. That was the plan. Sure, Falcon's friend and all, that's why he asked me instead of doing it himself. It was father, at least I don't know about him having a twin... And he didn't want to hurt him. We would give him the antidote in exchange for souverenity of the coastal lands. So thanks for ruining that, and making me reveal him before them..." |

" I am utmost horrified. You have broken the rule of hospitality. There is no crime worse. By all means, your act was wile and unforgivable. " Tide's face twisted with pain and disgust. " Once you break bread with someone, you can not hurt them... There is trust, and old tradition, in bones of us all... You are at luck, alas, that you are my nephew, otherwise, I'd have snapped your spine in half while ago. " Tide said coldly and vigorously. " There is still time for that. I am not uncivilized brute, though. We will talk this through, but not before you two get yourselves together. Throw that knife away, boy, and give me the antidote right now! "

Lorenzo narrowed his eyes, seeing that Svarik's concern for Erdel might help him succeed after all. "How much do you want it?" he asked Svarik directly. "Enough for the souverenity of the coast? Don't be blind, Tide. This is an Emperor, just hiding under a different title. Emperors tortured both of your best friends, and ruled over the coast for long enough."

" No... Sir... Please... Don't give him anything... " Erdel rasped out, not daring to touch king, but grasping on the edge of his shoes. " He... He brought us 4 cups.. 1 for himself... 3 for us... Sage would know.. we told him... that I don't drink or eat... " he coughed out. " If Sage sent him... He'd tell him to bring... only drink.. for you... and Melody... not to be.. suspicious. Sage... promised me... He would not tempt me... to drink or eat... if it really was Sage... he would still remind his son... not to push me... by telling me I should... try it out.... he would know... it would be... suspicious... "

"So what if he forgot to mention it? There was not much time. Does it change something about your friend needing an antidote?" Lorenzo asked.
|
Administrator
|
" Sir... I don't need an antitide.. I mean... You need south... more than I need antidote... " vampire begged Svarik. " You can not let country crumble, right after you became king. It would destabilize whole land, make it suffer. I can't let you do that.. It will bring new divisions... You need land... standing united... before you... I... don't need... Antidote.... "

"Don't worry, I'm not going to make a deal with him... yet," Svarik said, but there was worry in his voice. "Tide, could Garnet reconize the poison and make an antidote?"
|
Administrator
|
" Maybe... but if it can do this to a demon, then it is serious . Demons should be immune to almost anything from this world. This is not something given for negotiations. This is something you give to human if you want him to die within couple second. " He was glaring at Lorenzo, trying to read from his expression if he knew that.
|

|
Lorenzo looked almost offended for being accused of lack of knowledge. "It's actually a poison for demons," he said. "It acts much more slowly in humans."
|
Administrator
|
" We will have to take your word for it, until we see with Garnet. We can not seperate now, so we are all going there. " Demon said firmly, and he right away took Erdel carefully in his free hand, and instructed Melody and Svarik to follow him closely.
|

"You are just losing time, Garnet doesn't know anything," Lorenzo said. "You should consider the offer before it's too late..." Svarik looked like doing just that, biting his lips with worry. "How do you feel?" he asked Erdel. |
Administrator
|
" I can hold onto for a little longer.." pale creature flustered as they brushed through the halls." Sir... please...do not sign anything... I will be.. fine.. in case....You know."

Careful to not touch the blood, Svarik took Erdel's hand, listening for his heartbeat. He didn't answer, just monitoring Erdel's vital signs, ready to make the deal if they would go too weak.

The poison was faster by every moment. But Erdel was fighting it back, glaring at Svarik, knowing his thoughts.
" Sir, if you make this deal, I.. will not for give you. . Falcon... wil not either... " |
Administrator
|
"And if I don't and something happens to you, then I won't forgive myself, so shush... save your strength, so I don't have to..." Svarik soothed him.
|
Administrator
|
" No. I must tell you, while I can... Sir... I will return to you as Spirit. I may not remember you, but I shan't die. . And if Riversong.. loved Death.. as demon and Spirit both... Than I will love you as Spirit too... Please.. if you do this... Falcon will.. be so angry at Sage.. he will start a war... I know it. don't.. let land suffer... over me... " he stuttered urgently - as he started coughing out blood, this time, his own.
|

"There will be no war," Svarik promised him. "Garnet will help you..."
(OOC: time to tell you what the poison actually is, before they meet Garnet, I guess... Lorenzo is bluffing about the antidote, it's actually Garnet's experiment (gone wrong) with making a tea for spirits based on the demon one. There is no antidote yet, but it's not actually deadly for either demons or humans, it will pass on it's own in some time. But Erdel had a big dose, so Garnet can try to make an antidote that would make it pass sooner. And I'm curious if you / some of your characters can guess how he actually poisoned the cocoa) |

Erdel was too dazed right now, needing a moment .
When they reached Garnet and she checked on the vampire, she realized and explained what it is, and rushed to figure out if she can mix up something to help. ( Ooc: it's not exactly much of assassination atempt then, only black mail one, but I will see if I can guess :) |

Lorenzo didn't speak since they got there, and just sulked.
(OOC: It looks like one, I couldn't reveal it's not) |

As they tried to force the liquid through Erdel's mouth, he drank a bit, but suddenly, with it, he threw up - it seemed to be too much for him, as if his belly desired to get out, not the poison, mind you, but more then stench of Lorenzo's blood he so deeply despised.
With some of the blood out, he drank more of antidote mixture, and with his mouth cleared thanks to the liquid, he coughed it out, and while he still appeared to quite be dying, he seemed thankful and more able to focus when feeling no blood at his lips. " S-sir... " he said weakly. " I... Am sorry... But.. could you... no.. could Melody please find Sage? Right now. " he bid urgently, as they still were not sure what untested liquid will do to him, and feared he would die before thing is cleared out. " This is... Serious... If it's really Sage... somebody bring him, please. " he demanded with urgency. " We must speak this through. We must see what to do. If Falcon finds out... they humiliated you like this... tried to hurt you like this... after everything.... He will do something terrible, I am sure. I.. we... need to know why... clear out... Before I... you know, if I.... Before things go out of hand. If it was some kind of... doplerganger spirit or something weird... posing as Sage, not really Sage, then he might be in danger, too... or worse... if it's really Sage... if you don't clear out... Falcon might really... really kill him... " ( OOC: It can still be assassination attempt - it is largely untested, so maybe Lorenzo thought strong big enough doze could kill. ) |
Administrator
|
"Yes, Melody can ask someone to bring the Sage," Svarik nodded. "You just rest... Garnet, can we clean and bind the wound now?" (OOC: I won't reveal what Lorenzo thinks, that would be no mystery) |

Melody left right away.
" You, perhaps, shouldn't... It will be safer if I do it. " Garnet said, but vampire interrupted her, having his own thoughts more urgent. " There's no rush for that.. please.. they are.. shallow... Cuts won't kill me... If poison doesn't... " Erdel stuttered, trying to catch Svarik's face quick to tell him how important this was. " Sire, I bit him. I am so sorry... I am a demon... but... something stayed from before... Tell me honestly, do you think I am going to die? " he asked, looking flustered about asking so dramatically, but appearing as if he feared this was too urgent to go around being direct. " If I am dying... then I don't have time to waste... I drank his blood... It may.. turn him... into vampire.. demon... I don't know... Something... If I am dying, anyway, then I don't have much time... " ( OOC: Of course, prefer to be surprised :D Besides, characters will reach more naturally if they don't know yet, so that's better. |

"You are not going to die," Svarik said firmly. "You heard what Garnet said, it should be just unpleasant, not lethal. It will pass..." |
Administrator
|
" That would be great.. Well... Okay, then... Then we still may have... bit of time..." demon cleared his throat, seeming little relieved, as he turned to Garnet. " You must get.. vampire poison out of his system... so he wouldn't turn, die or... I don't know... I never bit anyone or drank blood since I became demon. It could do anything to human. Maybe even corrupt. " shadow of pain passed across his face, as he added urgently. " My hangs excrete still that turning poison - but one of our friends back home knew to make antidote with using of poison and some herbs... I don't know... the recipe, though... Do you... Know something like.. that? "
" I am sorry. " Garnet shook her head. " It's been way long since Demons were around freely, biting Spirits... I don't think I'd even have herbs needed for something of such kind right now... Maybe if I go out and try to find some... " " No time.. " vampire coughed out some remnants of blood gloomily, seeming unhappy, evading Lorenzo's look, as he slowly found his balance to stand up. " It used to take but day or two for it to fully turn someone when I was vampire, and now, it may be.. even faster... That demon had to bit Riversong only once, to curse him for centuries with pain. I can't go around... Making familiars... Turning people... Into vampires... or worse...We must deal with it now... " |
Administrator
|
"We will deal with it," Svarik assured him. "You just relaxed and rest, alright? You are hurt, and worrying is not doing you any good..." Svarik said, and indeee he had the feeling there was some miasma starting to appeqr around Erdel. "I know it's hard, but try to relax... You saved my life, that's all you need to focus on. Garnet, could you please make the demon tea? I will deal with this turning thing. Liron taught me a purifying spell, and I think I can use it again now." "Nah, don't bother. Being a vampire sounds rather cool..." Lorenzo said, although it wasn't clear if he was serious or just didn't want Svarik do do anything for him. |
