Svarik took the feather carefully. "I see," he said quietly. "I have no illusions, Eros. I've never killed anyone, but it's because others did. Izmir... Conrad. I wouldn't have survived otherwise, and if I killed anyone it would be a disaster with my heritage. But as long as the justice in the land isn't sufficient to prevent such people from harming others, I understand such actions. As to the justice, we’re working on it."

Being nodded lightly, looking thoughtful, as if unsure how to explain his hesitance.

Why not use this time while he is sleeping to come up with or make some nice gift for him, to show him how much you appreciate him? I'd find more fun helping you figure that out, than playing some general game. What about coming up with a nice breakfast to make him when he wakes up? Or maybe building something thoughtful with your own hands as a surprise? I love doing things that require love, and I am rather good at cooking, and at various arts and crafts. Wouldn't it be fun to do something nice for him? "

"I must say I'm curious about the tarot you played. Is it a game he enjoys? I haven't seen him playing it before."

[VisAnastasis]

" You can play a couple of games with it, but we didn't play games last night. I think he enjoyed the most the drama of it all. I was doing divination with them and showing him some card tricks too. And it's a secret of the trade, but since I am good with cards, I can pull out any card I want to get divination I please, " creature winked innocently at him. " I do not think your friend knows much games, to be honest, other than chess... he does not strike me as someone who gives himself the casualness to play games of luck that he may end up losing. Last night, since you passed out so, I was mostly doing whatever shenanigans I could while you slept to distract him from dark and lonely thoughts. Oh, he did seem to admire the art, though! Some tarot cards for commoners are simple, but I have a special pack upgraded by Janus that is not damaged by time and is rather shiny, with shimmering golden accents. I think designs and peculiar names of the cards struck is fancy because they must be unusual wares for a man from the capital because after we finished divination he asked to see the pack and browse through it. "

"I think a game would be a nice present," Svarik said. "It's also a promise of spending time together. I just don't know what game."

[VisAnastasis]

" In theory giving someone a game in the promise of spending time with them isn't bad, yes, just like serenading a lady you like isn't a bad concept. He can make clothes that are out of this world, of course, if he likes you... He only makes interesting clothes if he finds your request interesting enough..."

"I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to buy him with presents..." Svarik murmured a bit unhappily. "And before you say it, yes, I know I'm equally bad as he's with Melody. I'm totally overthinking it. Maybe just a star-shaped pendant, with a little sun engraved in it?"

[VisAnastasis]

" That's just too precious, " Eros's face was beaming with a smile. " Now, that's already thinking with your heart instead of your panicky head. Though, I do think you are overthinking it about the gifts... Doesn't he get you a lot of gifts, too? I didn't manage to coax enough details, but since we talked a lot about you last night, while she was with us rather shortly, lady Melody did mention that your sir Conrad still had half a chest or decorated flutes and ocarinas left to give you. She thought it was adorable, but he was acting all pragmatic, how he naturally has to have a little something at hand to give you in case you feel depressed, to cheer you up, " Being smiled adorably. If you dislike the thought of having some unique or protective magical clothes made for him or are hesitant aiming higher and trying to obtain him some rarer accessory like a dimensional bag that Hans has, it can not be helped. If you are sure about the pendant, though, may I offer a suggestion? I think you should make one star-shaped pendant with a little sun engraved, and one sun-shaped pendant with a little star engraved, one for each of you. Hm, would you perhaps like to make it one of those medallions that can be opened from the side and hold tiny objects, and have inscriptions engraved on the inside? They are in the same thoughtful category as pocket watches - it is a nice feeling when you open a pendant or a watch and see a personalized message... "

[Mirach]

"That sounds good. I just don't want the gift to be too pressuring if I give it to him after that talk. But you are right, why shouldn't I give him something enchanted later, if I can get it? " Well, hypothetically, if some mischievous Elder God had the power to trick his mind into sleeping longer, would you take it? " he said sheepishly. " And I am not offering that only because you wouldn't have much time. He was under lot of stress until you woke up, it was more tiring all-nighter for him than running through the night with full armour would be, I think. If he is such terrible sleeper as you say, wouldn't it be good for him if he sleeps longer now that he can? Immortal or not, he needs to learn to sleep properly so his mind stays healthy. "

"Can you make it five?" Svarik asked with a grin. "That would still be believe to him, I think."

" Well, five sounds just about right for an emergency sleep session, too, " Eros replied, with conspiratorial delight. " I can do it without a sweat, we just have to decide between two methods. The thing with my powers is that I need a closer range to do it easily and more precisely, like with planning the exact amount of hours.
