" Hey, just because I suck at courting Melody because I am insecure about every long term relationship, doesn't mean I can't offer some quality advice, " Falcon snorted, although there was something mysterious playful in his look. " Well, it doesn't matter... Either Eros will tell you, or me, and you'll figure it out. Now, let's see... there are too many stairs, and you're still rather wobbly today from last night... How about you let your dear main King help you walk downstairs, my little Kingling? " Man offered him his hand gently. " Honestly, I'd love to carry you around as I used to when you were sick, it was surprisingly fun, but we haven't been doing it for a while now so I honestly have no idea how you'd feel about it right now. "

"Was it? I just don't like feeling like a burden... But if it's fun, I suppose we could do that..."

" You know, actually, now that I think about it, I think I picked that inclination from Tide... He told you he had been visiting the mansion with Sage three years ago? When he was around, he was always close to my men, and he even used to carry a couple of them he hanging around with. He said it's a demonic thing, that he loves doing it because it feels like claiming people as dear to him... I never got it at a time. " he smiled a little bit. " But I guess somewhere along the way, the sentiment must have rubbed down on me without me noticing. It was really fun to carry you around, have you nap in my arms while we walk through the garden... like, yes, I am not rubbing my scent on you like a cat that Tide is, but it was nice... I mean, when did you get the idea any of that was a burden? " Falcon tilted his head a little. " Everything around it was stressful, like world almost ending at Long Night and all that, but the time I put into caring for you was one of the happiest I had for the last ten years. If taking care of you was a burden, not a pleasure, you know I am straightforward - I'd do it, but I'd complain all the way through. I mean... you do know that I enjoyed it, right? It's not one of those misunderstandings where one of us thinks it is obvious and other does not? "

"Is it possible that I knew you enjoyed it but still felt like a burden?" Svarik asked. "Like... taking advantage of the fact that you enjoyed it and feeling I didn’t really deserve it. I know, it's not right. I'm working on it, okay? And for the sake of working on it, I'll let you carry me now, deal?"

" As long as you know that you are not a burden in actuality, and are willing to work on that feeling," Falcon replied with a wide pleased gein." Why not work on it together? Let's give it a try!" He proclaimed, standing up. He reached for Svarik then, in what seemed more like a hug than anything else - and then he gathered him in his arms and raised him up, holding him closely and effortlessly like he is a feather.

"Yes, and that's another thing," Svarik chuckled at the easiness with which Crowley lifted him. "If I were to carry you, I'd definitely find it much more difficult..."

" Oh, dont worry, you have marginally better odds to catch up to me now, I actually lost a bit of endurance, as I wasn't doing too much fieldwork in recent months, especially after you began giving me this handy signed paper allowance, " man that didn't look anything short of perfectly build and strong teased him. " You know, it's definitely too dangerous to offer to teach you to climb roofs, but once we scrape by more free time... How about we begin taking some more night walks through our city? Buying gifts to leave for the kids during the night, leaving coins in exchange for fruits In the orchards like we used to, before coronation... Would you like that? " Falcon offered gently " We've got to find ways to stay fit, and that one isn't half bad, right? You can look at both this and that as further spoiling me. You should really try spoiling me more in ways that don't make me greedy. Everything got so big... I miss those little things that were simple and calming... this one included. " he said warmly - and while it was clear he could easily support him in one arm, he held him in both, carrying him in a close protective embrace.

"Oh, absolutely," Svarik smiled. "I'd love to do more of those nightly walks. You know what? Let's do one soon, when we get back to the city. I know thete will be a lot of work, but this is important, too."

" I'm glad we are speaking the same language... " Falcon grinned, pleased with the enthusiasm. " Oh, and you know what? Not all the times, but I think Simbel would love to join us once in a while at least. I really... grew to see the two of you... as really close to me. I wouldn't do the whole family adoption ritual with you guys if I didn't. " he said. " Simbel is delighted with literally everything, ever. He would be happy if we include him in some of our adventures... in the capital for now, at least. We were testing how far he can take his new body, you see, and so far, we figured he is able to reach city walls comfortably. He didn't want to try to climb up the walls that day - he wanted to wait when all three of us are free, so he can look beyond the city wall for the first time together with us. I promised we would lead him to Nammeless's restaurant, so he can treat us with a meal and share the view through the window with us - that was literally the first thing he wanted to do since I began giving him money to spend. He's... just too adorable, " Falcon sighed wistfully. " So we really have to find time to go with him to show him the view from city walls. I ordered as much research into archives as possible, in order to find out as much as can be about the times of kings, in hope to find ways to widen the range in which he can control his body. It would be ideal if we can at least manage to go with him to the orchards outside city walls... "

"That's wonderful," Svarik smiled. "I didn’t know he can go that far from the pond, he must be really happy about it. Now I'm really looking forward to seeing him look behind the walls."

" At first, we all thought that was the limit because he was most comfortable next to it. But he was practising a lot. He says that having a body all of his own felt a little like a baby walking for the first time - one can do it, but struggled, and often gets back to crawling. But now, it comes naturally to him, without much effort, since he got used to it, " Falcon explained, with as much pride as one would to see their own child accomplish an important milestone. " He was so delighted when I led him to the nearby pastry shop for the first time, and let him buy me a slice of apple pie. He can't go out during the day, because the body, being one of vampire originally, is sensitive to sunlight, but a lot of shops still work after sunset, so we both decided to wait for visiting any other shops or interesting places until you have time to join us, too, so we can go together. " He grinned. " I have a pretty strong feeling he's saving up as much as he can to buy you a whole bunch of sweets and toys, but by all means, do act surprised like I didn't inform you of this. I just have to share the info, though, so you can look forward to it. I can't exactly claim it as paying him, as it would diminish his godly image to be given wages by the mortal, but I made him a system for money offerings, where people that are thankful to him can give him as much as they feel is proper in exchange for his blessings and help. I did it to encourage people to see him in more godly light too, but it is almost working out too well. It began slow, with him offering happy dreams for copper coins, but now he's even doing house visits here and there... he still isn't that good at Lowlandian, but he is working hard. I feel like he's growing stronger and happier every day... He's affecting the environment so much that I think we will have four harvests around the city this year. The cherries are already ripening, when that should normally be happening in summer, months from now... "
Administrator
"Speaking as a king, that good news for the economic boost of four harvests a year," Svarik said sagely and then grinned. "Speaking for myself, I love cherries. You say they may be ripe when we get there?"
Administrator
" Oh, yes, another one of those things on my list that I wanted to tell you after we get back, " Falcon replied brightly. " Speaking as your friend, I am delighted, because I can't wait to see your face - you can't see it from the sky when flying, but I inspected it when I went on one field mission a bit before we left for the sea, and the cherry trees are full to the brim... As a friend of the king, though, I must admit I am even more delighted. It will be an insanely good thing for Simbel's image as Bull's brother, and proof of his Godhood, that he is able to bring such prosperity around him, not even counting that illnesses around him are lessened because of his presence. Actually, I am having this lingering idea... What are you thinking of expanding our pantheon sometimes in the future? " man chatted freely while climbing down the stairs. " I was thinking - it's obviously convenient Bull has horns, and Eros and Cernunnos both have horns... It's not something that can be done overnight, but what do you think about a humble horned pantheon of Gods? We can have Bull, the ruling God, God of War, Eros, God of Love, Cernunnos, God of nature... And we just have to come up with a very awesome title for Simbel, as Bull's younger brother. God of Peace? Health? Life? Purity? I am open to suggestions... "

"Life and healing seems like a good fit," Svarik said thoughtfully. "Should we put out an announcement?" he chuckled. "Job vacation - new pantheon needed. Beings with appropriate qualification please sign in for an interview."

Falcon chuckled with it, his body movingon its own with laughter, having to stop for a step not to shake Svarik.
" Oh, well, actually, as long as we would write it in Spirit language, it's not like we can't get away with it, you silly Kingling," he teased. " But I would not rush to spread it too much all of a sudden. This wouldn't be possible if Simbel was coldly receaved, but he is growing to be a smashing hit, so once he is more famous, why not? In any case, Cernunnos is a must, because you care for him, and it's not like he is not used to being worshipped as God already. The technology he makes with cristals and his ability to affect plans could be huge for the kingdom. We could have even more harvests, and help ease poverty gaps," Falcon spoke with pleasure - it seems the sweetest thing he got out of the journey was learn more about Beings he could cooperate with. " Honestly, I am most regretful we can not recruit Janus, but he is too distrustful and the pressure of being a God in center of attention of so many humans right now would kill him. Prostetic arms and legs look great, but I am most interested in his spacial powers. That whole temple in a bag... if that is what he is willing to show, I can't stop wondering about what he doesn't show us. How could a Being of such Low class, mere remnant of a star, be Elder God to humans once, on same level as Hans? He shouldn't have the range to move enough to become famous enough. What is your impression? How is gaining his trust working out? " |
Administrator
"He's rather self-conscious about his diet and the possibility of his inventions fallimg into wrong hands. And the more power the hands hold, the more mistrustful he is, so I really wouldn't ask anything of him. But he grew quite fond of his apprentices and feels responsible for them, so helping them is the best way to get his trust. Not that I wouldn't help them just for themselves, but it has that convenient side effect."

" Yes, this is something to be approached most carefully. But sooner or later... We are going to have to ask him about that room where we treated Emmet, right?" ( https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/012/551/773/large/angelo-paolo-romito-enviroment.jpg?1535374937 ) Falcon asked unexpectedly." I thought about maybe leaving asking that when he finds time to bring children into the capital for scar treatment and he feels more favourable to us, but Svarik... Didn't you have a bit strange feelings around those windows? By the layout of the building, it seems to me tgat there should only be walls leaned built against the rock there, so I looked closer... You know how since I gained Listening ability I often see certain sounds as colour patterns? I have seen rainbowy pattern at three places alone so far... At Hans's magic bag, at opening of Janus's temple bag, and around those windows... So I don't think those are actually windows, Svarik,, only made to look like ones, to conceal their function," he murmured, with an obvious burning curiousity." I think they are all the same kind of doors. What would dimensional doors be doing in most impressive rooms of his former main temple? "
Administrator
"Oh, I didn't notice that. I was quite busy... I don’t know, so many dimensional door are rather intriguing, but I wouldn't ask about it before he mentions it himself. But we can keep our eyes open still, maybe we will notice something that could give at least a partial explanation."
Administrator
" Now you get why I am so curious... I'm dying to find out. Wherever it goes, I know it has to go somewhere important - it's one thing to build a dimensional bag, but you don't build a huge dimensional bag for just anything. The fact it's in his former main temple is itching me even more. So, I'm just informing you to keep an eye out for anything strange and tell me. " At that point, they were before one of the doors, and Falcon stopped, as he probably felt Eros's presence inside, and slowly lowered Svarik to the ground, smiling lightly when he was on his feet, and putting a hand on his head and tousling his hair lightly. " Of course, he's all ill and scared in general... so more than my curiosity, I'd like you to focus on gathering info on the health of not just him, but all Beings you come across, and if you can do anything for them in the long run. Maybe you're just a little Kingling, but you're a maximum quality Healer. In this, you're leagues above me, so I'll let you do whatever you feel could or should be done whenever we come here, okay? "
Administrator
"I'm basically already doing that, " Svarik smiled. "So I'm glad for your support." Then he opened the door to greer Eros again

It was a middle sized room for guests on the first floor, with furniture as one would expect - soft carpets, armchairs by the fireplace, paintings, shelves, cupboards, and so on...
In one corner of the room, by the window, was the Being. He was sitting at the working table, writing some letters, and he must have sensed Svarik's presence, but felt more comfortable to wait for meadow king to adress him first. It looked similar to how he did when they last parted, but there were two changes in his form. One was, that instead of dark and simple fit for format occasion, he wore longer and looser more comfortable pastel dress, more fit for home. The other change is that this form sported pair of big soft white wings on its back, that looked delicate and inviting, much like the wings Simbel used to have in the Dream world while he still sow himself as White Eagle. It seemed this form was what he wore when he was not in public, and didn't have to worry about his wings drawing attention to himself on one hand, on the other, he didn't have to worry of them bumping into things in narrow seats of the theathe. |

"Hi," Svarik greeted him a bit shyly, getting a little nervous about what he wanted to ask Eros about now. "Are you still free for a little talk?"
Administrator
The Being turned with the question, and smiled back at him a little - and Svarik could see, as much as he himself was shy in the situation, Eros felt the same.
" Oh, of course, " Being replied timidly, putting the letters away. " I tried not to socialize too much today, so I'd be free when you decide to come for a talk. I was just writing some letters to send to my companions back home. They would be worried for me being absent for a few days without telling them, " he stood up slowly, folding his wings as if trying to appear smaller and non-threatening. " Where would you like to sit? Please, make yourself comfortable... " |
Administrator
Svarik picked a spot by the window and sat down in it. "Could we get some tea?" he asked. "It's easier to talk over a tea, don't you think?"
Administrator
" What kind of tea do you like? The rooms are programmed to produce what we need by asking out loud, if it exists in the storage - have you used that function so far? We can seek ingredients, and I can brew us some nice tea by the fire, " Being replied softly, and as he ordered for the fireplace to lit up, he asked. " Would you allow me to extract some nutrients into your tea, as I did for that beverage when you woke up, little one? I hope my thoughts do not offend you, but you are rather thin for someone in your line of work, so I have to offer... "
