Senecio adn Tide II

" If you agree to paint roofs suggestion, it's easy for me - I will just make a deal with your sir Falcon to make sure everyone n the city magically agrees to have their roofs painted. I do really have particularly extreme feelings tied to Hans about that one, not actually doing it just to do it, I won't lie, so for it, I would be willing to go the extra, extra mile. As for one day, do not underestimate the speed of a Star, kiddo. I work at different time constraints that you when I choose to. If I said I can do it in a day, on top of giving a fresh coat of paint to all houses that want it, too, then I can do it, and have enough time for a picnic with you afterwards, " Being replied with a dramatic majestic wave of hands, but then, shrugged with all three pairs. " But you know what I can't do? I can not milk animals to save my life. That is, I such at it, maybe it's just a small space, or I am clumsy when it comes to handling animals. Is there a specific reason why milking a goat is supposed to be more enjoyable than the other milking that you'd want it so much as to add it to the list? I am too curious right now. "

[Mirach]

"Heh, no," Svarik shook his head. "I just realised I've never done it. You know what else I haven't done yet? I never had my hair braided by a star. I would like to know how that feels and what you would do with them... as long as it's reversible."

[VisAnastasis]

" I can not possibly count that adorable request as an activity... It takes too short, I can do it for you whenever you feel like, if snacks and good time is provided. You know the only way I would agree to count is as activity?" He asked innocently." You have relatively middle length hair -  I can not use my energy to do it, but I can mildly manipulate some time related things within the body. Long answer short, using the energy in your body I can make your hair grow super long. We can have lot of fun with your friends doing lot of braids, and then when we have our fill we can cut your hair back short to how you like it. How does that sound? I have a feeling your Semai would have a lot of fun braiding your hair, too, and we should not deny him such pleasure... Joy exists to be shared."

[Mirach]

"Oh yes, that would be fun," Svarik nodded. "So we have: whale song, salt mine, milking goats and hair braiding for me, and kingly wedding and roof painting for you. You are two suggestions behind."

[VisAnastasis]

" What can I do, when you're so eager for simple pleasures? Let's make up the difference, then, " Alpha replied, before adding quietly, saying words just a little more hesitantly, as if they held emotional weight to him " I have never flown before... Svarik nodded. "Okay," he smiled slightly. "You know that when I asked Eros what you might like as a deal, vacation in the city was one of my first suggestions? He said it's not a good one, but I think he imagined something else, because this is quite close to what I imagined under that term. Okay, so that's three for you and three for me, if we scratch that goat milking. Shall we continue or is that enough, if we're willing to fulfill all of these?"

[VisAnastasis]

" Eros has a kind heart... A trip to the city would not be possible without a bright and charming roof painting. I would need it to convince Hans to go, " Alpha replied firmly. " Without Hans, the trip is not worth it for me, you know? I need a strong enough argument to convince him it's worth trying... If at least he can make it to the walls, it's good for me. When... he was taken there... it was not the city I and he had been in long before, you know, " Alpha revealed his thoughts a touch more quietly, as they were much more sensitive. " There was no trace of the soothing presence of the city's patron deity, and it felt as if something had sucked away all the colour and life from it, horrifying, empty, and with a stench of death... Not quite so strongly everywhere, but it was so in the cell he was kept. I need more to show him that it is a different city than it used to be when he was there, too, and I can't do it with the same looking city as it was 300 years ago. I want to paint all roofs in beautiful colour of its renewed patron, as it was in our time there, not his. It is the only way where I can combat his grey memories, " he smiled a little at Svarik as he added. " So, while I would like to play more with loopholes in your conditions, those three are important suggestions to me. I just think it would have been fairer if I gave you more place to refuse and take other suggestions instead if these are not to your liking... but if you are alright with mine, I accept yours too... "

[Mirach]

"No, I would pick those anyway. I can see they are important to you. But it won’t be possible to fulfill them right away. With the wedding it's obvious, and for the other two I need to make sure it's perfectly safe for you. It's a big city and complicated situation. I thought I was safe as a king and got snatched right after my own coronation. And Senecio got poisoned on a stage that several Beings proclaimes safe, so I think my paranoia is understandable. I can't risk something happening to Hans, so I hope you don't mind if it takes a few years to fulfill that deal from my side."

[VisAnastasis]

" I understand for the other two... I did pick those because I was sure I can ask for things in the future. Take however you need... But for roof painting, if you agree, I could come sooner. Not only for Hans,but for Simbel," Alpha replied, with more relaxed openly amiable expression. " I am curious about your patron Deity... I heard he has changed. If he is willing to meet a demon like me now, I would be willing to paint those roofs for his sake as soon as he and you like. After all, I had a really good day once thanks to him, without him knowing he provided it to me. I would like to provide him with a good day too. I like to believe and live by the ideal that good things should come to the good people. "

[Mirach]

"Right, that one should be possible sooner," Svarik nodded. "In that case the flying part of the third one won't be the fist time then, but I don't think you'd mind that."

[VisAnastasis]

" I can give you one of my nail clipping," Being offered. " If you make a fireplace in the open field and  burn it in the fire and think intently of me, I can appear in the flames," he explained." I can not exactly teleport - but I am just a projection of a distant Star. I can travel at a speed of light to you."

"Ah, so that's why you've never flown before," Svarik smiled. "Okay, do reserve that experience for coming with Hans. I'll call you when I get most of the people in the city to agree to having a pink roof. Is there something you could weave into the color to help that negotiation? Protection from lightning? Guarantee of the roof never leaking? I do have to negotiate on behalf of my people here a bit, you understand..."

[VisAnastasis]

" No, this is something I am doing for sheer pleasure as well, so it is hard to really even call it a deal. It is just an experience I want. I am a collector of experiences, you can say," The star giggled brightly, with pleasure indeed, and there was a sparkling shimmering quality to that smile." For a start, to help negotiations, are you sure you can not say you had a vision of the Bull that proclaimed he would give you a blessing if you paint the roofs pink in Simbel's honor? That way you can have the blessings we decide on. I will have you know, I usually avoid doing anything big, because people talk, and it could get me into trouble if they know it's ny doing - they can get greedy and want to take advantage of me to do things for them, or if they are rich and powerful, try to blackmail or pressure me to do so. So, if we can give the credit to the miracle of the Bull and Simbel, that would be a perfect chance to do something really good!" Being clapped its hands playfully, sounding all the more enthusiastic." Protection from lightning and guarantee of roof never leaking, unless of course someone bashes it with force and damages it. That would be ugly, so of course, I would also enchant roofs to ve very strong and sturdy, and to be less slippery than now so that your roof climbing friend is safer. We endangered species, Demons and Listeners, should look out for each other,"  Being winked at him gently." Anything else you want? You really made my day by promise of doing this for me, so if I am able to not take credit, I am willing to make you a miracle. If you provide me with enough material and paint, I can also do some simple wall repairs and paint the walls, too, so that whole city is bashing in new colours, not just the roofs. That might just take a day and a half, but I would give the extra day with no regret. "

[Mirach]

"I think that's doable," Svarik nodded. "Thank you. I know it matters to you because of Hans, but it's really helpful for the city, too, so it feels like I'm getting the clothes as well as your help for the city, and some cool trips from this deal."

[VisAnastasis]

" Don't you think I am getting pretty amazing deal too, though? For a start, I get the chance to use my powers for good on a huge scale, something I can't afford to do without risking my peaceful life among humans," Being replied earnestly, not seeming to hesitate putting his cards on the table, with pleasure, even." Besides, it is no fun to do things for one reason alone. I can not make equally awesome clothes for you without deal, it would create a precedent and could stain my fair reputation. But Tide did say it would be good for your safety and stability of kingdom if Gods were on your side, didn't he? More stable kingdom would make Hans happy too. Besides, sone gains are not direct and obvious. My gain can be  peace of your anxious mind too, can't it? " Being said with soft sparkling voice as it gathered the papers." Good things should happen to good people, don't you think? You saved Senecio's life yesterday, even at risk of yours, and therefore greatly increased quality of mine and Hans's life. Shouldn't good deeds inspire good deeds?" Being acknowledged proudly and brightly, and Svarik could feel the Being's actions were not just out of politeness, or because he was a king, but held sincere admiration. " So, in lack of cosmic justice, I shall give a little boost to your image of a rightful king blessed by the deities, and increase *your* quality of life in turn by providing help to your city through this. I am a great fan of doing things for the hell of it because I feel like it, after all, you see...  "

[Mirach]

"It's the best kind of deal, when both sides feel like getting the better part of it," Svarik smiled. 

[VisAnastasis]

" My favourite kind. " Alpha Centauri winked at him, and continued lightly. " So, since the others take time, and today you are still frail from yesterday, would you be in a mood to listen to whale's song?" Being suggested, with pleased and proud note in his voice, and meadow king could feel a sincere respectful note in the reply." You have sown lot of good seeds here at sea with your selflessness already. Sea Deity favors you very much after putting such effort to play for her. Normally, it would take quite some time finding whales and waiting until they decide to sing, but we can ask Sea Deity for help, and she can call us couple of whales and have them sing for us. We can even ride sone whales, though it might get splashy. Do you want it today? And would you prefer it now while the sun is still up, or tonight, under starlight? I hear the sky is going to  be very clear tonight," he inquired." We would need ti bring Tide or Sage since they are waterbenders and can lead our boats without rowing, but whoever you wish to bring we can bring them if they like."

[Mirach]

"Oh, it can be done that soon?" Svarik looked thrilled by that. "Awesome... I still have some stuff to do today and tomorrow, but we can stay a bit longer here, so it would be a great way to spend the last day here, don't you think? Oh, right, about the other stuff I need to do, I have a list of things I need to get for Janus. Would you be able to give me an advice about the best route to get everything?"

[VisAnastasis]

" I will speak with the Sea Deity when I find time to make arrangements in advance, but yes, that's even better for me. If... Hans and Senecio would wake up and could go with us, that would be so nice..." Being sighed wistfully, before taking the paper with the list, and passing over it. " You picked a good person to ask. Some of those are quite rare and don't sell in common shops. I know because I often need strange materials that I work with Hans to procure regularly. I could procure you all these, but it would be a bother since I want to focus fully on that starlit fairy armour, and my heart would ache if I coaxed another too-good-to-be-true deal from you, my heart could just not take taking such advantage of you. How about I write you names of all human suppliers and shops that have them? I do advise you to instead of doing it all by yourself you just write detailed instructions and share the load. Some of the items only sell in the city next door that is bigger, where I live, too, and if you need bigger amount you are going to need at least five people to coordinate and arrange a group of workers to buy and gather everything by tonight. "

[Mirach]

"Thank you, that's exactly what I need. I can’t imagine going shop to shop to get everything from the list. And I feel I should be taking it easy still, so I don’t think I would go myself."

[VisAnastasis]

" That's great news. If you had a fiery determination to go, of course, I wouldn't have the heart to stop you in your adorable quests, but I am more glad you won't go," Alpha replied contentedly." It would be easier to go to the captain of the guards in this mansion and have him handle it. He is a Being that has the perfect human form, so he prefers a human job here, and he is very good with organising and working with people - he can arrange enough manpower and do it the fastest, just give him the paper and tell him your budget and what is most vital to buy more of. Just say Alpha sent you and that it's important and he will know he should give it his full attention. " He handed him back the notes with a smug grin." Aren't you just glad you asked me or what? One * Alpha, you are the best*, or a comment of equal cuteness would suffice."

[Mirach]

"Oh, we just met but I can already tell that you are awesome," Svarik chuckled. "Thanks for your help."

[VisAnastasis]

" Oh, we just met, but I knew you were a fine lad for a while now. You don't know that, but Sea Deity is very beloved, and even only for your help with it, many Beings that live around think well of you. But not me. I like you for your strong convictions and heart," Being grinned at him, and unexpectedly, it reached for him and patted his shoulder amiably." And because you are adorable, of course. Keep up the honest work, little Sun de Sun."  

[Mirach]

Svarik bowed his head slightly. "Thank you. I'm going to find the captain now, but I'll be looking forward to hearing the whales."

[VisAnastasis]

" That's quite a polite way of saying *see you in thee days*, " Being chuckled, standing up gracefully. " I look forward to some good time. Thank you for hanging out with me for a while, you are a sight for the sore eyes, so I do feel a little better. And I do find your decisiveness to protect your future boyfriend admirable, " Being bowed his lead lightly to him, tipping his extravagant hat. " So I will go right away to gather the best possible ingredients for his clothes, and work to the maximum of my abilities on features we agreed on. You can pick them up or send someone else to pick them up from my room in the morning. "
