"I don’t know how well you'd be able to follow the play that way, and if it would prevent the issue," Senecio said. "But I can assure you that no actor or actress wearing a robe or skirt goes bare under it. When one moves a lot, fabric doesn't cooperate every time, so even the spectators in the audience might get a glimpse if it was so. Everyone wears a kind of short nude colored pants, so I wouldn't worry about that."

" It still feels a bit as something people could take advantage of. I am not... Speaking for me or the children. I am more thinking of what might happen one day, long after this time. If I am taking part in this, everything is going to last for long time. I build for longevity. I have to be very careful so things I build aren't used for bad purposes," Janus whispered thoughtfully." Your idea... Really appeals to me more, on a visual level. I find it beautiful, and I would look forward to so much more light here. But I am having a bit of ominous feeling of what... Indecent people could do if they would get their hands on this stage. If the man that killed you had this... don't you think he would find way with his friends to use it for perverted purposes... for his parties and auditions? He could basically make this place below the stage a seating for lowlives... But I guess... If such a thing were to happen, having transparent stage would just be something making things worse and more troublesome, not necessarily a sourse of the trouble. Still, it's unsettling thought... Do you think my worry is justified or not? I just want to maximally minimise any possible suffering..."

"I don't know. We don’t have to decide right now, maybe it would be better to think about it more. You don’t need a transparent stage if you want to use a theatre that way, and making just a few planks transparent wouldn't really prevent it either. It's a stage, what's on it is meant to be seen. To prevent such bad intentions, I think other measures are needed, tools to make such behaviour unacceptable."

" I know planks wouldn't eliminate the possibility... but they would make it harder to be used for such a thing since it would limit the number of people that can watch. But I know too that neither is a real solution. Yet... I can't lie that I like your idea. I would like... for us to share the same light. For this place to feel more unrestrained and spacious. I would like to show the children... that something is different and more pleasant this time, " Being admitted with longing, but there was still weight in his voice as he admitted. " Yet, I always do have to be wary, if anything I make can possibly fall and be used for notorious purposes. You are still young, so it's hard for you to think that way... but as an immortal, I have to think about possibilities in the long term, for all I do. I always have to imagine worst-case scenarios. For example, if you, Hans and me were to die... would whatever we do be reasonably able to be maintained properly by humans that we leave behind? Could they fall into the wrong hands? Could they by any stretch be used for evil? " he sighed. " To be honest, I am worried what would happen if you and Hans as owners were to die, and I was left in a bad position, of having to serve a bad master, if I were to be able to stay with the children. I know technically Sage would probably be a legal successor, as he leads in legal records as Hans's family... But you know, Hans has lived through quite a bit. Imagining something that could kill him feels like something that would kill Tide and Sage similarly. I know.. it may not seem so... but leading life among Demons is dangerous. I won't really try to prevent you from seeing me on accounts of being a demon, because you are dating the Demon King, and there is no bigger red flag than that... " Demon whispered quietly. " But you should always think through all the possibilities more often, from now on, because among Demons, in this world, life can grow dangerous... Spirits don't usually kill humans involved with them, as they deem them victims, but still... it's... up to a personal preference of demon hunters, not a rule of thumb, you see... "

"Yes, I see," Senecio murmured. "Well, it's the angle that's the problem, right? How about making it semi-transparent for light, but opaque, so nothing can be really seen? And a system of mirrors like you originally proposed, to project the stage from a better angle to follow the play."

" Yes, " This idea seemed to fit better for Janus, and he chipped in. " When you say opaque glass, you mean that kind of glass that has the kind of structure where you can vaguely see what's on the other side, but it's all blurred? That would solve the problem, " Being brightened up a little. " Like that, it would still be general enough that we can figure out where people on the stage are, as blurry blobs, but we won't be seeing all the details. And, a system of mirrors I proposed would give us an actual clear image, and it would be from a nicer angle, so we can actually see the play as it's intended to be seen, from the front side, " he proclaimed, and, despite he didn't want to impose something comfortable to him, Senecio could see he was content with the option to watch the play from a safe distance, as his fearful disposition didn't allow him to be able to sit in such huge crowd surrounded by people without panicking.

"Yes, exactly," Senecio nodded eagerly. "Light and a picture from a better angle, all in one."

Being nodded enthusiastically, glad this idea, in its bettered form, was accepted.
" Is there anything else you had ideas about? " he asked amiably. " For execution, we'd have to wait for Hans, because he is best when it comes to the planning of resources. But I can make sketches, technical drawings and do calculations on my own, in any case. Those will be big changes, but we can plan some small ones, too. As long as it's nothing supernatural, it shouldn't tire me out too much, " he shifted a bit uncomfortably, as he said. " I am not... 100% opposed to some very light supernatural implementations - the kind that, even if 3 of us died, could be thrown out when broken, without affecting the whole way theatre works. But... anything supernatural can tire me a lot, and when I am more tired, I feel more hungry, and... I try to lower the amount of such work. But just yesterday I finished making two supernatural pendants for the king and his beloved, and I'm still resting a bit from that, so I would prefer avoiding supernatural work right away... "

"I don't have more ideas right now," Senecio said, sipping the tea. "How about a game of cards? There should be a pack in the dressing room, it's a prompt for a play. Maybe the boys would like to join as well."

" Yes," Being agreed readily. " To be truthful, I don't like when they are outside my sight too much. I made them whistles to use, to call me if they get in trouble, but I am still more peaceful when they are close by. I am an adult still, so I will go pick up the cards. Just... do you mind explaining me the rules now, before we invite with the children?" He asked, with touch of for him rather unusual embarrassment." Um..  you see... I don't know how to play board games, or cards, or anything. It will be fine if I am not great, but I would feel foolish if I don't at least understand the basics, like... Normal people do. Can you explain how it works first? Is it more or less complex than purchasing goods?"

"Well, I'd say a bit more complex. I'm not sure if the boys know the game either, so I'll explain the rules before we start in any case," Senecio said and explained Janus where to find the cards.

Being nodded. He left and first told the kids to return safely to the room, while he went to look for the cards himself. He returned soon, and gave the pack to Senecio, intently following his explanation to not miss anything. Luckily, indeed, the actor was right, as it really wasn't like the kids had much means or a chance to play games, so they were as clueless as to the demon at first, so he wasn't standing out. Quite soon, though, they all got a bit better at it, and they got into the spirit of playing quite naturally, so they had a rather nice time until Tide arrived to pick up Senecio, shy for interrupting, telling them that preparations are done.

Janus glanced at his apprentices as if weighing out the pros and cons of having them on any less than ten-meter distance, which was quite clearly written on his face.
" It may be... a good idea anyway, to stick close by, in case they need anything more for operation, " he also agreed but requested slowly. " Can... the kids come, still? If it's not troublesome. Nobody has to entertain them. Sage's home has a lot of guards, so I feel they would be safe enough walking in the garden a bit while they... wait for me. Sage's garden looks like a decently bright place for children to wander freely. "

" Of course, "  Tide agreed earnestly, as he shyly reached for Senecio to pick him up, checking with a glance firs to see if it's alright for him to do it. " I could also find someone to watch over them, but I think gardens are safe indeed, and they'd probably be more comfortable having a bit of freedom to wander around on their own and enjoy the view. It might do them good... it's really too stuffy here to spent the whole day. "

" Of course, I'll explain everything you want before the operation. We decided to do it in your own room because it would still be easier to work on straight sheets with only you in the room, so we don't disturb Hans, as well, with the smell of yours blood. There will be just the three of us, him, Eros and me, so you can ask us anything you feel would help, " Tide offered, and carried him to the carriage. Since it wasn't too far distance, and Janus wasn't comfortable with either leaving the children to come on their own or being stuffed with everyone in a carriage, the four of them decided to have a short walk to the gate, as it was a sunny day, anyway.

Tide agreed, and he and Senecio left in the carriage first. After arranging the guard to wait for the group to arrive, he carefully carried actor up the stairs, to his room this time, where the two Beings were waiting for them.

Senecio was a bit tense, as could be expected before something like that, but he didn't have any second thoughts about it, just wanting it to be over soon.

Tide sat him down on the bed. On one chair, waiting for him, sat Death, wearing Tide's mask, because he was more comfortable that way, not wanting his feelings to be revealed before Eros. The love god himself sat in the other chair, holding the box with tools - it was closed for now, though, so its sight wouldn't make Senecio more nervous. Being could feel his resolve, and he felt determined as well - but still, he double checked.
" If you have any questions, you can ask them, " he reassured him calmly. " And when you're ready, just tell us, and lie down, please. You don't need to drink any medicines. I'll take care that you are unconscious during surgery, and you won't remember anything. "

Eros glanced at Tide, as if making a decision, and nodded back firmly.
" Yes, " he replied simply. " As soon as we are done with everything, and chemicals in your body are balanced out, I'll kickstart your body into gradually waking up, and I'll leave to take what we've taken out to Janus, so you'll be able to have a moment with him. I was told you know mister While, too, so it'll just be the three of you... There's nothing to be stressed about. When you wake up, there should be no pain or discomfort, and we will make really thin and careful incisions - this is out first time doing it with a healing factor involved, but I promise we'll do out best to leave minimal scars. Tide has informed us though that he has got you a balm for scars made my fairies that other time, so even if some are left, they should disappear soon.  "

" Waking up will be gradual, like from a deep sleep, or.. well, even deeper than deeper sleep? Yes, it will be a bit like a harder to wake up from feeling like when you take too much sleeping potion and it takes a while to wear of," like in everything, Eros tried to explain earnestly. " As for the skin, since the instant healing is a bit new territory for us, the places where we made cuts will probably feel a little stiff and unusual, as it's all brand new skin. But as for the  inside, everything should feel just alright, without any inner discomfort or nausea. I'll balance you out chemically as we work, to make sure that by the time you wake up, you'll mostly be feeling a little sleepy and a little hungry. "

"That sounds good," Senecio nodded. "I don't think I want to know any more details about what you'll be doing while I'm asleep, as long as you say there's no danger."
