" I am sorry that you have to play for yourself... I wished there was more to be done by us. But unfortunately, healing gifts are very rare among marine demons and spirits, so I know no one that could do it for you, or who could know you well enough to play for you. This message from Carol... It was first given to me as a letter, with instruction to open it after Long night, to then learn it by heart so I can share it with you while hug lasts, and destroy the note afterwards. When I read the note after long night, I was enraged. It is like retrospectively hearing about someone's bone being broken before it's broken.. I understand why Carol only told me to read it after all was said and done... I hate seeing cute sweet people suffer. I would have probably messed up some future line, while trying to involve myself to help... " creature admitted sadly, while holding Svarik still kindly and protectively in its embrace, letting Svarik see he may have felt more guilty for that than leading on. " But I don't think that kind boy would let this future unfold, if it was more than you could handle. I hesitated at first - but I chose to bring you flute because I believe in you. I talked with Sea Deity. I heard lot of nice things about your music. If you play as kindly for yourself as you did to my sea friend, I have nothing to fear. And there is no better place to play for yourself than here - here, you can really feel what you are doing, and get yourself in tune, and not be distracted with anything else but yourself. If you had spent the night well, learning about yourself, I judged there was no better time to give you that flute than now.... "

"With your friend, I could be gentle, as I only wanted to help with the pain and clean the wounds so they don't get worse before someone else can create new bits of soul for her. Here I need to go much deeper, and I know now that nobody else can do that. I just don't let anyone else that deep into my soul, closing it even before those who wish to help so that they wouldn't see where it's most vulnerable. I need to do this myself... But it will be hard. Could you give me a bit of rain, please?" Svarik asked.

" Is that a question? Of course I can. That is intent with which I came here. " critter whispered to his ear quietly and reassuringly. " I just need you to be completely honest with me, that's all..." it whispered hesitantly. " Will just a bit of rain help? I can feel the land growing dry already... If I just give you little bit, I feel it would be as if giving you nothing to help you. Would you rather not desire that I give you a good heavy downpour instead? I can not heal through music, but that much, I can do, for Carol's and Falcon's sweet friend... "

Svarik bit his lip before he could deny the offer, not wanting to inconvenient someone for his sake. The night of tending to the land showed him that it's alright to ask for something that the other is willing to offer, even if it creates a minor inconvenience for them. "I need more than a bit," he nodded quietly.

" Your wish is my command... " the demon replied firmly, in a promise, and he remained holding Svarik in his hug protectively, as if desiring to give him a stable point to take it in. The bending and gift over water of his soul seemed to come much easier to demon, for he found his peace and enlightenment long before Sage and it long ago became part of his nature. The heavy clouds formed and gathered up right away to do his bidding, as if he just wished them to existence. At a moment he hugged king a little tighter, to give him sign to prepare himself, millions of drops started washing down on king's soul all at once, washing into the deprived cracked soil.
This rain felt a bit different from Sage's - after all, it was a difference of something coming from human, or a demon. Only demonic essence that had touched Svarik's soul before this point, was dark twisted essence of the crypt.. But with surprise, he had found, this felt nothing like that. There was chaos in the essence of raindrops, but it did not contain chasm of suffering, but a reflection of endlessly complex creature that found beauty and marvel in its own chaos, and was happy to own it. It was creature that bent its own chaos to its will, and knew to use its immense power for good. Svarik felt dizzy with pleasure and relief, as strong unyielding waves of the rain washed down withing him, having scent of demon aura, but instead of bringing him pain, embedding layers of layers of its powerful nurturing magic into soil of his fearful soul. Aura of a demon formed around him was powerful, through water enveloping whole surface of his soul, but not making him feel threatened, but protected and safe by being immerced with it... This was, without mistake, an aura of a healthy, kind demon, and being touched by it brought so much lingering ease king felt weak on his feet... And demon was a demon of his word. He did not give just a little. The rain went on and on and on, covering the soil plentifully and generously, and as long as he could keep it, demon had made it rain and continue to rain... Sense of time was lost, in the downpour that felt as nourishing as it felt endless... |

Svarik turned his face up towards the rain, letting it wash his tears and refresh him as it fell down in his soul, where the soil was already drying, but has been softened by the previous rain and so the water was able to get a little deeper this time. |

The refreshing rain felt endless. It created a thick layer of water upon the earth, allowing it to flood much more than before. It was a fierce storm, and it lasted much longer than the one Sage could make for him, as demon, as it was natural, had much more stamina and energy to draw from in doing this. It was something that required giving and pouring out something of himself and lot of his own magic, though, and while such supply was endless, taking away as much as he had given was strain to his physical form to take.
e was stoic and so good in hiding pain and discomfort that it was commendable - but still, after a while, Svarik could feel demon was by now exploring his limits, and as the previously bright light of his fur and mask and clothing was now much paler, it became clearer he can't keep giving so much of himself much longer - but there seemed to be, some almost stubbornly polite note in his character, that didn't allow him to just stop this without being told to do so, as he could see how much Svarik enjoyed it. It was almost Conrad's level of stubbornness, who would keep tactfully smashing down a brick with bare hands, if needed, if he would judge it'd mean he's doing something right. |

"Thank you, that's more than enough. It feels great already," Svarik said as soon as he noticed that the demon won't stop on his own. |

Demon's hand trembled just a little as words broke his focus, but then, respecting his wish, he at least slowly stopped the rain. He took few deep breaths, before he looked up at Svarik shyly.
" I am glad if it does... " he smiled shyly and brightly behind his mask. " Because, to me, it felt great to hear news that my Sea Deity felt better, at last. It had been excruciating to watch her suffer for so long... " he confided shyly to king's ear. " Thank you, for being so generous, and playing for her, instead of for yourself. Do not worry for me. You did me and my sea friends a great service with that, and I'd do more for you, if I only could... " |
Administrator
|
"I hope I will be able to play for her more, when I feel better myself," Svarik smiled shyly. |

" You didn't have to do anything in the first place, but you chose to. That's quite enough sign of good will to me. Don't overthink of it now. Right now, you'll do me most service if you follow Carol's plea and do what you can to make you better... " creature noted. " Can you stand? " it asked his attentively, and touch practically, gesturing to offer assistance to help him sit down somewhere along stones where it was drier.
|
Administrator
|
"Probably," Svarik murmured, but accepted the assistance anyways, saving his strength for the song. |

Demon helped him out to get to the dried land, tactfully avoiding to touch the flute that was there.
" I will leave you now. I apologize if anything I did came of as rude by whatever humans customs you follow... I tried my best. " he told him earnestly, and he then plucked out one hair from underneath his mask, and handed it to meadow king. " Here, Take this before I go. I will be honest to you - I kind of put healthy amount of sleeping potion in Sage's tea before he went to bed. I don't know when he'll wake. " he admitted, with just a little naughty smile. " So call me instead, if you are ready to leave this place and he's not answering your call. I'll get you out, or if you desire rain, I hope I'll be able to give you more, perhaps, after I rest and meditate a bit. I also am bender of water, so I can help with that, too. Just swallow the hair, and I'll be on my way. If you turn out not needing to use it - well, I'd appreciate if you took time to burn it sometimes later in the mansion, please. I don't just leave pieces of me chilling around lightly. " |
Administrator
|
"Of course," Svarik nodded, finding it now a basic politeness to do so. "Thank you, I will call you if I need you..." |
Administrator
|
" I am very pleased, charmed, and obliged..." demon smiled fondly and shyly at him. He bowed to him timidly and awkwardly, as if unsure if he should do it, but since he was king and since he liked him, finding it basic politeness to do so. " Stay well, and may good luck be upon you. " critter said, and with that now, seeming to have a little thing for teatrical exits, after dramatical wave, it dissapeared into a thin air, leaving refreshed Svarik on his own anew.

When Svarik remained alone, he lied down, and focused on feeling his soul from the most outward to the most intimate parts, without any pretenses, so that he could compose his song. |

His soul was currently rather vulnerable, knowing what was to come, and in aftermath of a demon's visit that disrupted its peace. However, that visit brought it new pleasure and freshness with new rain it was given, and it was now breathing more freely and it seemed to just rest and let go of some tension, with wonder at thought such kind act of a stranger benefited it so much.
As Svarik stripped himself bare to examine his soul in order to compose a song, he discovered it offered much less resistance to his efforts - it seemed that long night of carrying for himself and striving to understand himself patiently has been fruitful in making him more trustful in himself and less afraid, more ready than ever before in last months to do this. |

Still he was a bit hesitant to starp playing, knowing it will hurt. It helped when he distanced himself, pretending he is going to play for someone else. That also allowed him to be gentle and patient with it, and he started easily, with calming and soothing melodies that did not touch any hurts yet. |

It was a good way to start. It helped ease some of the tensed up mental barriers, and soften them. Feeling he was not impatient and frustrated, but kind to himself was freeing and he felt it was doing good to him, and was good first step. The sky seemed to brighten up a little, reacting to his more soothed state.

Svarik knew that he doesn't have to worry about time or food and sleep here, and so he took his time. Only gradually, when he felt he's ready, he let the song reach deeper, to weaken and dissolve the hardened protective layers around the true hurts. |

Here, there was no one to disturb him, and no bodily need to distract him - he was alone with himself, and he could at last play for himself alone. Ability to immerse in it fully helped him, and although it was slow, requiring lot of his effort and skill, he could feel he was making progress. With time, he also found out that he can draw resolve and power from the water that was given to him. It was soothing and nourishing the hurts it came into contact with, slipping deeper more opened he grew to it, and it was able to aid him in his endeavor of weakening the barriers he had to deal with on his path to more intimate hurts.

He was slowly working his way through the barrieres, but with each of them he felt more vulnerable as he sensed the hurts beneath, that he was stripping from protection and exposing. A part of him still felt threatened by it and resisted, and it was a great struggle to overcome it. |

As he was working from most outwards toward most inner barriers, layers of water proved to be of lot help - with each barrier overcome, the refreshing soothing liquid slipped deeper into the earth, brushing more of inner parts of his soul on its way and softening them. Despite whole process was very vulnerable there was a little comfort in knowing that despite vulnerability, with it also came relief, and contact with the water that his essence deeply longed for and needed. It was, true, little comfort when having to strip his hurts bare for that pleasure, but it was something he still felt he needed and was doing him good, and by his soul, despite it pain, feeling less contained and crammed with each passing moment, he still felt he was doing the right thing.

It took some time and a lot of effort, but finally Svarik reached the last protective layer. It was hard to touch it, as it was the oldest one, that started forming right with the violation, and was full of pain and memories of it. When he managed to get past it with his song, he finally touched the most intimate part of his soul laying bare its hurts. He could not play further then, and paused the song for some time, just lying on the ground and shivering as the long suppressed emotiones finally reached the surface. |

It was lot to handle, as he felt his mind had been strained painfully with the efforts, as it was hard to relive those memories, but for the first time since he was hurt, he allowed his feelings to flow freely and did not hide before himself. For the first time, he was alone and bare, but he felt no fear in it since no hands but his own could touch him here... However, before he could even take a breath, time stoped for Svarik, as with dawning horor suddenly he felt....
A touch. It was not touch of any cruel hands like his body seemed to anticipate, but a touch of demonic presence, as pleasant as darkness of crypt was violating. As last barrier of protection melted before it, water his demon guest has given him gained full and undisputable access to his soul, and then... There was one drop, and then second, and then thousands drops of water, that traveled their way through solid ground, and now, without anything stopping it, reached Svarik's unclouded eessence, and began to mix with water from king's soul. Unlike what Sage did yesterday with waterbending, this touch was direct and undisputable in its full access to those depts - and under it, Svarik realized how starved his deepest part of soul was, as behind all layers of protection, no light or nourishment could come to it. Water from surface was nourishing, thought, and as it mixed in his own, it brought both its magic and glistening of the sun with it. King was aware of each drop that fell upon him, and his head was spinning and he felt dizzy with torn emotions, as experience was both satisfying and desirable with strong pleasure it brought, and horryfying in its intimacy. Waters within Svarik's core grew restless, unstable and terrified of being exposed, but he found himself too weak with unexpected waves of bliss to resist letting it nourish him from within, despite vulnerability subjecting himself to it caused... |
