"Yes, please, let us continue now, if Xia agrees," Svarik nodded. "If we have passed over all things she could want from me, it may be useful to teach her some things I might want from her, so she is not confused with it..."

" I agree, I will ask her. " Demon agreed, and once little creature agreed eagerly, he smiled upon her fondly, and proceeded to as patiently as it was needed continue to translate between them, so they could learn to understand each other better.

Svarik explained the meaning of all words he could think of he would need from her, with some that she already knew, like dog or wings - changing form to a particular one, flying somewhere with or without him, behaving inconspicuously before strangers, also attacking or stopping an attack, although he hoped that one won't be needed - mostly practical things, since they've already covered the emotional needs.

Xis listened attentively, until all was covered that king thought would be most useful and the topic was drained. She then looked curiously between two her adult guardians, as if asking what they'll do next.

"I guess it's around noon, so Erdel should be here soon," Svarik said. "Until he comes, we could maybe start with some basic grammar, so she can understand better the language in general..."

" I f you think that is the best, kind guest... Though that is more complex matter, given the way our kin perceives the world. It wasn't easiest thing I learned in my time either, but I will give my best to be of aid... I have no servants, though, so I will, if you may, have to make a brake soon, to do make us some nice lunch with the food you've brought us. " Cernunnos nodded slowly, as he was hesitant about it and it was more abstract matter, and he started to translate what Svarik would tell him to Xia.

"It's better to learn the more complicated things while having a translator. The vocabulary can be taught more easily even without that," Svarik explained his thoughts, and while waiting for Erdel, he used the time to explain to Xia the pronouns and verbs like "can", "will" or "have".

It was indeed, as demon predicted, much more complex and harder matter for Xia. They progressed much slower there, as it was out of the previous comfort zone, but despite it, little critter gave her best, trying to figure it out. Thankfully, Erdel was late, and it was only close to one hour after noon, that Cernunnos wiggled his ears lightly, and turned somewhere in the distance downstairs, where Erdel was knocking at the door.

Svarik smiled, suspecting that Erdel was successful in his hunt, since the delay might be caused by him not being able to travel through the layers with his prey. "It's Erdel, right? I'll go unlock the door..."

" Thank you, kind guest. I think we can make a brake now, so me and little Xia shall set the table and start  preparing some vegetables. " Cernunnos smiled warmly at him, letting him go, while, limping a little heavily as always,  he still gently led fox demon to the shelves, and started teaching her words for various kitchen equipment on the way.

Having passed this way three times alraedy, Svarik was able to get to the gate without any problem, and he unlocked it for Erdel.

Erdel expected Cernunnos, so he tried to impose somewhat of a dignified serious presence and attitude - but once he sow it was but Svarik, he grinned broadly. Since he was still fresh from the hunt, it was a bit harder to let go of some primordial animalistic instinct, so instead of speaking, vampire only lifted his hunt proudly - three rabbits, two ducks, and one pheasant.

" I am sorry for lateness... Had to go really far... " he only stuttered a little shyly, passing over his chin. There was no blood on it, as he surely went to water somewhere to wash himself, but its scent upon him still lingered somewhat, and quite bit of his shirt was wet from washing too. Animals as well seemed solidly clean, but killed with some overused force, judging by norn necks and quite few broken bones - as same vampiric senses, powers and brute force still lingered within young demon, in attack and need for speed and overpowering his pray it being harder to be diligent and control ones strenght.

Vampire seemed timid about it, despite he washed and cleaned his hunt as much as he could diligently, and he watched king a little vulnerably, as if hoping his hunt won't be a source of reprimand as he tried rather hard to be successful in it.

"Awesome, I was wondering how far will you have to go and if you will manage to catch something," Svarik said appreciatively. "Cernunnos just started cooking lunch together with Xia, so these will probably be for dinner - skinning and baking them would take more time anyways. Come, let's present your gift..."

" I sow a red fox too.. But couldn't bring myself to catch it... Worried I'd upset Xia if I brought that to the table... " Erdel stuttered, clumsy with speech still, coming forth to king with the hunt. " Do you think it's alright? I tried to keep a clean kill, I did... It should be good... " he said shyly, though uncertainly of facing an elder of his kin in best light, being rather calmer with Svarik in last few days, appreciating him more as he experienced more of Svarik's acceptance of him.

"It's alright. It seems that the animals didn't suffer, how they were killed is not as important. And it's good that you didn't kill the fox. Xia might indeed be upset about it, and I've never heard of hunting foxes for food, either, just for the fur. But the rabbits have a nice soft pelt as well, maybe Cernunnos will be able to use it somehow," Svarik said as they walked through the halls.

" You can eat fox meat, it's just not particularly good taste.. I just thought, I doubt Cernunnos would be picky, needing nutrition... and it would have more meat than little rabbit... But I hope he will still like this... There's really quite little animals around..." vampire murmured shyly, carrying the pray timidly while they were climbing to the dining room.

"It will be enough for a few days, and on the way back we can get him something bigger," Svarik assured him, and let him enter the room first so he could present his gift.

Erdel seemed rather clumsy and timid - it was almost funny how presence of ancient Forest God made him nervous... But wanting to do something good for probably the first person of his new race that he felt he could look up to was a big thing in itself, and his nervousness was expected in the circumstances.

When he entered room, he stuttered a little, blushing. " I have.. Taken little free time.. to... bring a gift... to.. um... my kind host... " his voice got lost a little trying to find proper greeting  - but Cernunnos did not let him stay uncomfortable for too long. Whether he suspected it or not, still, when he sow the hunt and vampire's heartfelt try to get into the soul of the giving custom, from table where he was gathering vegetables with Xia, demon stopped in his track, as he seemed touched. He was weak and dry from tears, but he still seemed on the verge of them, and his lip trembled with such pleasant act of kindness.
" For me? That is... so kind and thoughtful of you, little guest... "

" I just wished to, um.. return you for your hospitality to best of my abilities... Please, do not refuse me on this.. It would mean a lot to me if you accepted... "

" My, dear little one, you shouldn't have... It is too much. I will accept it, though, if you'd please give me the honor of preparing a dinner with your hunt together with me, for your friends. " he said, and he did not let vampire stay timid before him for too long, instead taking on again that gentle parental manner with him, guiding vampire to the fireplace, and Erdel followed - as if with mere wave of his hand King of the Forest held the power over him.
"  Obliged, obliged greatly I am, for being in such high regards to you... But you had been out in the cold for all this time, haven't you? I am not pleased for it. It is not good for our kin to go out and get drenched in this weather. Sit down, please do, and have this blanket.. " after Erdel put down his hunt on table, demon made sure his guest sits down in armchair close to the fire, and, as if seeing him as much of a youngling as Xia, as an elder of their kin, he took freedom to wrap him up in a blanket the brought from the archair in the corner nicely. " We have lunch to prepare now, too- but since you do not eat, do not fret, I shan't make you. But I'm going to warm you up some of my special brew, to make you feel better.. "
" it's fine, I'd rather, um, perhaps... "
" You can not refuse me in this, young guest. " Cernunnos just said as a simple fact, with some more dignity without compromise, before he smiled little more lightly again. " It is not polite to refuse your host, remember that. I do this from pure heart and good intentions. It's bad for our kind to not be looked after well. Warm  your bones, little one, and I will warm you up a tea to warm your soul in a moment. " Forest God decided, and after he made sure confused embarassed vampire was resting beside fireplace, he put another pot aside, to make a tea for him while their lunch is being made.

Svarik thought shortly about helping with preparing the lunch, but then he decided that he could use the time better by playing for Cernunnos. He took his flute, and played a melody tht was not distracting from work or requiring that much attention, but was soothing and acting subconsciously.

Forest God turned toward him, and he smiled a little as he started playing, and king could feel a bit of his thankfulness, a light grace upon the air, coming from his good mood. He did not let music distract him, though, and that good mood of his reflected in his cooking. He taught Xia how to cut vegetables well using her claws, and he taught her words for things, and recepie for the food he was making, and he was so jolly about it and about watching little critter figure out these things for the first time, that the whole room seemed lighter. As doing something about the hunt would take too much time, since he knew he has supplies now, he instead for lunch used all of the meat he had left in his safe spot, which was just one little bowl, but only for Xia and Svarik, he judged it would be enough for a meal. He experimented, and marveled at all supplies king brought him this morning, mixing it all up in three dishes that he packed up mastefully with spiced herbs, and the scent in the air, together with Svarik's gentle song, created very nice pleasant atmosphere.

Svarik only stopped playing when the meal was ready. "It looks delicious," he said. "Thank you. And you was very good in helping," he caressed Xia behind the ears.

Cernunnos translated to Xia, and when she understood praise, little demon squealed a little, doing an important proud stance, and then, she clucked, and hugged Svarik softly, with her little paw, patting king behind ear too, as if in adorable way trying to mirror his gesture of affection.

While the display of love lasted, Forest God in that time made sure plates for all were set. At that time, Erdel's special beverage was finished as well, and elder demon gently picked up a lovely cup from the shelf,  dark blue and decorated with little cute white stars and flying owls, and he filled it generously with the beverage.
" Easy, just drink slowly. It should suite you. Once you finish this one, I'm going to fill you another cup. There.. " he spoke kindly, and despite Erdel's shy protects, he gave him the cup, and after making sure he is comfy, he kindly added more wood to their fire to make sure they are all warm enough.

Svarik used the time to fill the plate for Xia and himself, leaving an equal share to Cernunnos to make sure he won't neglect himself for their sake, and then waited for him with starting the meal.

Demon frowned lightly at seeing they left him that much, as he, like Svarik predicted, didn't plant to take too much. He was apparently not pleased, but lingered for a moment, unsure what to do, as he knew it would be rude to object to his guests. In the end, he filled his own plate with vegetables, but meat, he took only little of, enough that he hoped his guests won't insist he takes more, while he covered the rest of the pot with cloth so meal would stay warm. He filled all three of them some apple juice, and then he sat down at the table with them, so they could eat.

Svarik did not insist to not make him feel pressured. "It's really good," he said when he tasted it. "Sorry if I took little, I just can't eat that much..."
