"Fine then," Senecio nodded and joined him there. "But don't worry if you drop me, it's not such a big problem."

" Don't tell such silly thing, or you'll get me angry. It would be a problem, if you fell.  " Tide frown a little bit at the notion. " Just hold on tightly, and it'll be alright. " he said, and maybe a bit of frustration with last sentence managed to beat out some of embarrassment he felt. He took Senecio in his arms, who still carried his cloak, as one would a kid, light and small, and he simply, as you do - jumped out of the window, leaping high into the air, with speed and elegance fit for a demon, getting high up above the city, with petuliant actor in his hold.

Despite his proclaimed stoicism Senecio tensed with the jump and closed his eyes, daring to open them only when they were gliding along the sea level.

The demon was gliding along the surface elegantly, in tune with the water that was bending to his every will. Was it glide, a run, surfing barely upon the crystal clear surface, it was hard to tell, but it was some kind of walking on water, coming to him with such ease, as to others would walking on soil. It was almost a dance, with every little leap, and it was a marvelous sight, straight from fairy books, to just watch the creatures with such magical whimsical look shine in the night, as water foams around him.

The magic and thrill of the moment lowered a bit, when, by breathing, and by lips peeking out from the current angle in which creature was holding him, Senecio could see Tide was trying his very best and using his all strength not to laugh at actor's sudden fearful tenseness, some faint sound of suppressed snicker just barely escaping his lips from one moment to another, the sound being lost in the whirlpool of wind that his fast glide was making.

" Yeah, sure. We can agree to call it like that. Yes.. Sure. Who was laughing? I was not. I did not hear a thing... " Tide agreed amiably, but it was obvious he was totally cracking up. He still held an actor closely and carefully, not to stir young man's injured hand, mindful of his promise, that he will not let him fall, trying to make the way more comfortable, as he tried to calm his laughing instinct by looking around, searching for the actor's boat.

Tide nodded, and he soon found it. When he reached it, he carefully put lad down on a boat, and and then also took of his backpack and lute and put it there where it was dry, too.

Tide remained outside of the boat, content to get his feet comfortably upon thin layer of surface water. With some innocent timidness, as if he's not noticing an overlook, he just made sure his cloak full of stars remains on the boat beside Senecio's feet, knowing nights are cold, and lad is still weakened after losing much blood, some through bleeding, some that Erdel drank up in his stress. Then, he gracefully started a sprint through the night ocean, and he started glowing lightly, like lantern through the night, and boat moved with waves, as if on its own, following the ancient playful demon in step, as he was running freely, gazing up at the sky full of stars, in their speedy travel.

Senecio soon took the cloak, as it felt rather windy in the boat when moving with such speed. He watched the sea, the stars and the glowing demon, absorbing the sights greedily.

Demon did not want to rush too much, enjoying a moment of calm after all the stress tonight, but he also didn't take too much time, wanting to gain them as much time at an island as possible. After around an hour and a half, they entered some kind of strong, soft mist, cool, but pleasant, that felt as if entering some kind of veil, the overflowing of which will get them to some other side. Through the mist, he could still see the bright glowing form of a demon, shining more and more brightly, the further they were from city, and therefore, less likely it being that he'll be seen allowing himself such luminosity.

" There are some places... Where border between layers is thin. You could say that fabric of world is loose in those areas. " Tide explained. " There are many such areas close by around sea, relatively close by, anyway. That is why my folk specially like it here. " he added. " Makes it easier to evade and escape Spirits, when layers are all mashed up and confusing. Spirits who had never been here could get lost in the overwhelming mist for days or weeks. I know the path as back of my hand, though. Soon, mist will clear,, and look up - there, you'll find the stars and bigger and brighter, and moon is thrice the size of one you can see in our layer of world. It's more soulful layer of world, if you will. "
He grinned, and indeed, what he promised, he delivered - for soon, there were stars, bright and countless, reflecting upon the perfectly still surface of ocean spreading endlessly all around them - it was almost but a dream, with everything bluer, richer, and more vibrant, and with very strong scent of the sea and soil as well, coming from a little island in the distance.

Demon smiled a little bit sadly, seeing his excitement, but he did not spoil it, being content enough to just watch his delight, knowing he had given him a beautiful treat, and glad for so, if it would be meant for his life to be ended now, glad he brought bit more beauty into its final hours.
They soon reached the island, filled with all kinds of strange otherworldly plants. Soon, they reached a place where moonlight was met with water coming from elegant beautiful waterfall, and upon a hill there, there was a little house, lightened up by a single lantern.

" One of my old primordial friends. Nice guy. I had given him couple of my inner organs once. His were too damaged by attack of Death's deadly Vulture legion. He was not dying, but still, I felt very bad for him, for he was in great pain each day, close to corruption. He kind of invited me to meal, was nice to me, and things went on from there... That saying, I ended up shorter for a liver, piece of lungs, and couple more small stuff. He owes me a lot. That's why I come to him, today. To have a bit of my kindness repaid, I hope. "

" No, I have duplicates, stored in my memory. Basically.. Some leftovers from the times I was critter of many minds instead one. You get some extra body parts, when your soul is made of many little souls. It's basic math. More soul equals more limbs and organs that urge you to let them manifest. " Tide explained with some confusion, as if this was some common knowledge, something that was obvious. " I did it many times, actually. Gave a little bit of my soul to others... So they could live more wholly, or just live at all. War was terrible to my race. You have seen Sage, too, knowing his son and all.. " he cleared his throat, as he added shyly. " It is not my policy to do it often, only fro ones I really, like, but I am not limited to giving away bits of me to demons. I have given away my second heart to Sage. A demon heart, mine, beats in his chest. He is my friend, after all. When emperor conquered Seacost, he tortured Sage, and tore his heart out. I had to, you know, give him mine. Humans require heart to live, too. " he shrugged. " He is my friend. Of course I had done it. I did it for many poor critters, and refuges of war. "

Senecio looked surprised. "Lorenzo never mentioned that... I didn't know it's possible. So if you have some spare hand as well, why don't you use it while this one heals?"

" There is the catch, you see. Injury on soul transcend and manifests through all forms. I burned right hand, so part of my soul that was meant for manifesting my right hand is burned, and so, palms of all my right hands are burned. If I took form with many hands, it would actually be worse for me - I would just feel pain of many hands, instead of one. " critter smiled a little vulnerably, looking away. " It's easier to deal with one, like this. What's use of more unharmed left hands, when all your right ones are blistered? I prefer it like this. This is easier physical manifestation to maintain. "

Critter nodded.
" He does not know human speech. I will have to ask you to not speak to him. He has two animal Familiars that are very defensive of him. He is turtle demon, and he's a bit melancholic, but he has a good kind heart. He is much younger than me, but he is nice and wise. That is all you need to know of him. Just bow to him, take whatever food he may or may not offer you, respect him, and you'll be fine. " demon advised, before he took their things and they set up to climb to the little home.
