At his touch, Xia teared up, despite wanting to be brave for him, craving for some comfort in her vulnerability.
" I just... did not want to hurt anyone. " She was whistling in her sadness, and Tide was translating her whistle to human words quietly. " You need to eat, and I will always respect that, but I do not... And eating is so nice.... but eating at all is bound to hurt and end lives. So what do I do, then, my dearest big brother? What am I supposed to do, to live a life that is good and pure from malice? "

[Mirach]

"You should not feel guilty for eating if it brings you joy," Svarik said gently. "Joy is equally important as nourishment, and shows respect to the food you eat. And when you are happy, you make others happy as well..."

[VisAnastasis]

Xia was thinking for a moment, before she asked quietly, again, with whistling, and with Tide translating for her quietly.
" But... If eating brings you joy, even if you don't need it... Then why Death is sad? " she asked Svarik. " Father... He explained me he will be alright... Because his friend, Spirit of Death, will take care of him, until he can come back to me. But I have seen Spirit of Death. He eats all the food he is given. He never asks if it's animal or plant. He doesn't look bothered by it - but not happy, either. If Spirit of all that... goes to him... after we blew away their souls... If he eats... What does that mean for me? Does he know, something that I do not know? Why can he eat freely, when he knows where food comes from? " she was inquiring, with a pinch of fear, something that she seemed to have been thinking of ever since she learned of origin of food, not sure what to think of it, seeking to gain higher understanding, but something she was not brave enough to inquire about until now, as she must have instinctively picked up how Death does not like her kind.

[Mirach]

"Death does not usually need to eat," Svarik explained. "But he is hurt now, like uncle Cernunnos, and needs the food.But not everyone finds such pleasure in food. I think some spirits enjoy music the way you enjoy food, or pretty sights, gentle touch or any other sensual pleasure. I do not know Death well enough to know what he finds joy in. We should really find out, if we want to help him..."

[VisAnastasis]

Tide translated for Xia little hesitantly, and it as a bit of change in the subject, that tore Xia from focusing just on food for a moment.
" Death... Is helping my father heal. He is frightening, but good. I wish to help, too. " Tide smiled sadly at her, as he as translating her ill quietly and thoughtfully. " I think... I can not do much... I am not an amazing healer like you, big brother. But I was made to soothe and comfort. That's how my father designed me. And I understand deals. Uncle explained me. If sound can help, and sensation of touch... Do you think I can help a little? I can purr, at a frequency that soothes and nourishes souls of Spirits. Kind uncle Tide taught me. " she smiled shyly, as she continued, seeming pleased with Tide translating for her in manner Svarik can understand best. " I could make a deal... Do you think Death would like to make a deal with me? He helps my father, but he hurts, just like my dad, and I want to give back. I could purr for him and let him rest upon me like I let you, big brother, if he would deal with me, to share his wisdom with me, so I can understand why he is okay with eating, being Who he is, so I can make more informed choice. I can see everyone is trying to help... I can do little, but the little I can do, I am willing... of my own free will, big brother... "

[Mirach]

Svarik looked at her thoughtfully. "I don't know... maybe he would accept it. He likes cats, so I guess he likes purring too... And if would be good if he accepts. When you make him feel better, he will see that a demon can do that, and maybe accept Tide's help easier. I think it is worth trying," he said, and caressed her.

[VisAnastasis]

When Tide translated for her shyly, she seemed little uncertain why Death would decline her offer, as if it as absurd to her, that somebody would decline something good and pleasant for them, but she nodded slowly, accepting it as possibility.
" He holds soul of my father, within his. He helps it. It's only right that I help him back. It is way to make world better and kinder. " she said to Tide, as she leaned trustfully into king's caress, purring lightly.  " Tell him whatever you think he will wish to hear, to accept... I just see he is in pain and wish to help back, that is all. "

[Mirach]

"You are lovely," Svarik smiled, caressing her still. "I can't imagine somebody refusing you..."

[VisAnastasis]

When it as translated, little fox creature all fluffed up proudly, touched with his compliment, ever glad to receive them. She purred loudly, and she freely leaned toward him, and embraced him, hugging him and purring.
" I will make my final call later... After I speak with Uncle Cernunnos and Death about this. But until then, I will make a choice from what I know, big brother. " she told meadow king through Tide, while cuddling with him. " For now... Sweet Melody says it's alright, so I will trust her. When I'm home, Id like to eat only plant food, of which I am sure no souls are left. When we are in guests, like now, I shall eat whatever I am given, though - for I wish to respect those to whom we come to, knowing how much effort they put into making us comfortable. When we are in guests, I shall refuse nothing - for I understand poverty now, and understand some have little to offer us in the first place... And I understand uncle Cernunnos, for I think I understand hunger, too, a little better. His heart would brake, if he made us piece of meat he has so little of, and I ate it sourly or not at all. He would be so heartbroken, and I shall never brake anyone's heart. " she proclaimed boldly. " When at home, I shall eat plant meals, when in guests, I shall eat what given from the heart, and that will be good enough for now. I have a job, now, too - and for every meal I have, I wish to give money I earn to feed somebody who is hungry, too. That will only be fair exchange. What do you think, big brother? " she asked eagerly, wagging her adorable little tail. "Am I choosing well? Are you proud of me? "

[Mirach]

"I'm very proud of you," Svarik smiled. "You are getting more wise each day, it is a good decidion."

[VisAnastasis]

If it would be possible, creature would purr more loudly, but since it was already quite loud, she just nestled close to him, cuddling, all fluffed up, her aura brightly and pleasantly lingering in the air, reflecting her joy and pleasure.

Tide observed her quietly, and smiled a little.
"She is such a wonderful, healthy youngling... " he commented quietly. "Keep her safe, please, under all cost, from Death's wrath and malice of Spirits. She deserves a good home to grow up in. I hope my translation helped in that growing up at least a little, but the rest is up to you. You are her big brother, after all... "

[Mirach]

Svarik nodded. "I'm proud to be that. Thank you very much, it's good that we got to such difficult topics when there is a translator around..."

[VisAnastasis]

" What can I say, but - as long as I live, I'd be happy to help translate for you, if need arises. " demon agreed quietly with faint smile. " To be honest - I assumed you called me to talk about Death - I know you wanted to inquire me about symptoms of corruption, and so forth. But I think I enjoyed this subject better... I am glad I could help. Always happy to make people around me happier... "

[Mirach]

"I guess we should talk about that as well, right?" Svarik smiled faintly. "But first I think I need some dinner..."

[VisAnastasis]

" Can I make you a dinner? " Melody was quick to exclaim with badly concealed joy. " Or should I just go pick you out something nice and nourishing from kitchen, dearest? "
" I could make you something, if you wish, sire... " Jake offered hesitantly. " I know the foods you like... It wouldn't be hard. I could make something for all of us, perhaps.. "

[Mirach]

"How about you two make something together?" Svarik suggested with a smile. "Oh, and there's one more thing I wanted to tell you, Tide. Jake is your new personal cook. Maybe you could tell him what kind of food you like and when, and such things?"

[VisAnastasis]

"Really? That's awfully nice. "Tide grinned a little, knowing how good Jake is, and seeming glad to spend more time with the quiet sweet little guy. "I won't bother you today with my preferences or further instructions - tomorrow, or sometimes along the way, we'll figure it out, and can talk of those stuff. You cooked for me already while you stayed here, and I know you're amazing, so I'll trust  you and enjoy whatever you make tonight, sweet little cook. "
"Okay, I'll mix up something nice and quicker with Melody, then.. " man said shyly, and he and little Spirit went downstairs, to make them all a good healthy meal.

[Mirach]

"Good," Svarik agreed. "Will you stay with us for the dinner?" he asked Tide.

[VisAnastasis]

" I as writing something - but I will have whole night to write, so it's okay. " Tide smiled lightly. " I would like to share a meal with you anew. It gives me great joy to be in your company while I can. " he told king, and he also nodded with respect and kindness to Erdel, knowing vampire does not wish to eat, but wanting him to know he still enjoys his company none the less.

[Mirach]

"I'm glad that we will have your comany," Svarik said. "Make yourself comfortable, please."

[VisAnastasis]

"Can't possibly be more comfortable than this. " creature grinned, but then it added shyly. " But I guess.. Hm... I guess I could take of my mask, until Melody and Jake return. That would be nice. "he said, and sitting down more freely, he took of his mask shyly, glancing around with his bright foamy eyes at the  demons and meadow king, to make sure it's alright.

[Mirach]

Svarik nodded encouragingly. "It's alright."

[VisAnastasis]

Critter smiled shyly but brightly, and it remained contently so. He whistled to Xia, and Xia whistled back at him, and they talked in their marvelous whistling language of music, for all the time they waited.
When Melody and Jake came back, Tide shyly put his mask back on.
The two prepared quite bit of food, plenty for all of them. While Jake was giving Tide his share of delicious food,  Melody grinned widely, as she handed him and Xia plates full of king's favorite dish - of fish baked with corn and apples, heavily spiced, full of nutrients, made with love and care.

[Mirach]

Svarik smiled at them. "That's very nice from you, thank you," he said, and then started to eat, as he suddenly felt very hungry with the look at the dish.

[VisAnastasis]

" Eat up everything, there's plenty more where that came from. " girl told him warmly, and caressed his hair lightly. " You played for Sea Deity so nicely today... You are a good, wonderful boy... You deserve a super nice meal. " she told him, and, like all else, she sat down too, and they all had a lovely healthy meal, only Erdel declining offer to eat, content to remain by the fireplace where it was warm and cozy for him.
